jin hadn't seen jay for two weeks and he was beginning to grow ill from the amount of worry that overcame him. he wasn't sleeping properly, his appetite wavered, and his mind was dark.
he was worried and hannah and chanyeol were worried for both jay and jin.
jin had a permanent frown etched onto his pink lips as he walked the halls of his school, ignoring the lustful stares castes his way as he walked.
he couldn't think about any other girl. jay was the only one that crossed his mind.
hannah was doing everything she could to hunt down jay. she even went to the lengths of breaking into her house to see her. but was shocked at the fact that it didn't even appear that jay lived there.
it was like jay was some sort of figment of hannah's imagination. there was no sign of jay's clothes, jay's toiletries, nothing.
but there were signs of jay's brother and his bitchy girlfriend living there.
a week after discovering this, hannah finally decided to tell jay and chanyeol what she found. they were outside after school near the football field. she had finally convinced jin to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and she slowly began to speak.
"so.. i went to jay's house and--"
"without me?"
"channy, not now. anyway--"
"hey guys," a voice piped up. the voice was soft, barely audible, but jin couldn't mistake the sound of jay's voice.
jin's eyes flickered from the sandwich in his hands to the shocked looks on hannah and chanyeol's face.
jin whipped his head around and spotted jay and when he did, his heart shattered.
jay was absolutely broken, and not just metaphorically.
jay sported a blue sling on her right arm and bandages covered her left arm. a fading bruise could be noticed all over face. she looked like hell.
"jay." jin breathed out, scrambling to his feet. he ignored the sling and all the questions that rushed to his head as he brought the small girl into his arms, embracing her happily.
"fuck, i missed you so much," jin breathed out, his lips pressing against the top of her head.
jay's heart pounded as his lips met the top of her head. she could practically hear her heart beating at the close proximity.
"i... i missed you too jin," jay smiled, wrapping her left arm around jin. she ignored the pain that shot up her right arm for the sake of the warmth jin's body brought her. she missed jin dearly and having him this close was relieving for her.
"where were you?" hannah finally spoke, jay and jin pulling away as hannah hugged her bestfriend. jay hugged her back, glad to finally feel safe again for once in two weeks.
"the hospital, the... club," jay paused.
the entire way to school, jay argued with herself whether she should tell the gang about her whereabouts. but after jin so effortlessly spilled the truth of his path, and even chanyeol had a secret or two to share about him, hannah spilling a secret too in the process, she figured they deserved to know.
"club?" chanyeol asked as he hugged her with one arm, pulling her into his side.
"jay's brother works at a club. it's a no good club either. its where his gang hangs out and causes chaos," hannah gritted.
"why were you there?" jin asked. hannah eyed jin curiously. it was like all the color that was once drained from his face returned at the sight of jay.
"he made me go. made me.. work," jay gritted.
"oh, jay, he didn't," hannah gasped. it didn't take long for the boys to put two and two together.
jin was furious.
"tell me he didn't let his bastard friends touch you," jin snapped.
jay struggled to find the words to say how sorry she felt, but her thoughts were cut off at the sound of honking.
"let's go idiot!" a harsh voice snapped. the group turned to see none other than jay's brother.
"is that him?" jin asked, pointing an accusatory finger in his direction. jay's brother seen and he stepped out of the car, slowly walking towards the group.
"do we have a problem?" jay's brother asked, yanking jay, causing her to wince in pain.
"yeah i do," jin hissed, bringing his right arm back to strike a punch into jay's brothers face.
"jin!" jay yelled.
"jay's brothers gang neared the commotion.
"what the hell?!" jay's brother, damion, yelled out furiously. chanyeol began to push a few of the members back as jin tried to continue hitting damion.
"yo, get him!" damion demanded. but the gang froze in fear. they were tough looking out the outside, but they were more scared of their mothers than damion.
pissed off, damion pulled out a handgun, his finger on the trigger.
jay saw the light reflect off the gun and she panicked.
"no!"
the trigger was pulled and the bullet was shot into someone's abdomen.
but nobody could tell who the bullet hit .
then a body dropped and a high pitched scream cut through the air, everyone, including damion, dispersed before authority figures could approach.
"you bastard! you shot your sister!"
