Tyler stared at Josh as he read the note. No one had ever shown any sort of interest in Tyler. He never spoke to anyone, even through notes, only to Josh.
"Are you scared of me?" Josh asked.
Tyler thought about it. He wasn't scared of Josh. He was scared of getting close to Josh.
Tyler shook his head. Josh nodded thoughtfully.
Suddenly Tyler felt bad. He had no reason to be ignoring Josh. He only wanted a friend, and for some reason Tyler didn't know he wanted Tyler.
Tyler took the notepad back and scribbled on it again and handed in to Josh.
Would you like to get some ice cream with me?
Josh read it and smiled a really amazing smile that could melt anyones heart. And he nodded eagerly.
