"Brain contusions are common with trauma to the head. Theyre more severe than concussions. A brain contusion is basically a bruise that affects the tissue if the brain. Severe contusions may need surgery and lead to other problems that may include memory loss, loss of motor skills, unable to speak properly, attention problems etcetera. But thankfully Tyler only has a minor one and will hopefully wake up soon. We don't know if there will be any problems when he wakes up, which makes it important- that if you are with him when he wakes up, you must call a nurse immediately. You will have to leave the room so we can assess the damage and see if anything else is wrong."
