“2:45, right on time. Everybody should be there by now.” Jesy smiled a she drummed her fingers against the steering wheel to some song in her head.

“Wait, who’s going and why are we going late?!” I asked a bit worried.

“Kate’s family and friends, and some of yours too! What did you expect? And we aren’t arriving late, this is the time we are suppose to get there. I told everyone to get there early to lay out food and whatnot to surprise you guys!” She laughed, hardly taking her eyes off of the road.

“Won’t telling me its a surprise ruin the surprise?” I asked laughing.

“Well, you won’t know who’s there and Kate won’t know either. So no, it’s still somewhat a surprise.” She said, sticking her tongue out at me.

“Ugh! Who did you invite!” I complained, squirming in my seat, knowing that whoever she invited would be someone I wouldn’t expect. And there is a list of people that she’d invite.

“Practically everyone on your contact list.” Jesy shrugged.

“When did you do that?” I asked, doubting that she’d really do that. Let alone get all my contacts.

“When I got Kate’s family’s phone numbers.” She smirked.

“You’re so cheeky!” I slightly shoved her as she laughed at me. “I shouldn't have trusted you with my phone!” I chuckled.

“Nope!” She said, popping the P. “Now close your eyes!” She demanded suddenly.

“Why?”

“Close them!”

“Tell me why.”

“Close. Them.” We went back and forth.

I rolled my eyes and closed them but not before I saw our mailbox. Well, time for the ‘surprise’. I had to admit though, my stomach was filled with butterflies, those butterflies you get when you’re waiting for people to show up at your birthday party when you're 8 years old and it’s already five minutes past the time they were suppose to get there. Except I had no idea who’d be there and I was the one arriving late. There’s honestly so many people that could be here saying that Jesy used all of my contacts. I bet some of the numbers no longer existed, some don’t even remember me, and some definitely aren’t really my friends anymore. But there would those few people that I love to death, which wasn’t a lot. And of course there would be my family. I felt the car finally stop moving and heard Jesy unbuckle.

“Alright, don’t open your eyes yet.” Jesy said as she shut her car door. “Okay, now grab my hands and don’t you dare fall because I’d be the one falling too and there is no way I’m falling in these heels in this outfit.” Jesy sassed as she unbuckled my seat belt and grabbed my hand firmly.

“Yah, I’ll try my best so you don’t look like a fool.” I sassed back.

“Oh, how I’ve missed this.” She chuckled lightly as she helped me out of the car. “Yep, bring Kate right on over here!” Jesy said, talking to someone.

“Alright.” I heard Kate’s mum say, her voice gradually growing closer.

“Okay! I’ve got my camera out and going!” I heard her dad chirp.

“Same!” My mum squealed.

“Mum! I’m 18, no need to videotape this!” I complained.

“Shush dear, this a perfect reason to document!” My dad said.
