"So you want me to snoop through Anya's private thoughts?" Dan confirmed as Clarissa and Blake nodded their heads. Dan sighed and sat down on Clarissa's bed. "Absolutely not."

Clarissa and Blake leaned against the white wall of Clarissa's room heaving a sigh.

"Well why not?" Blake complained.

"Because those are her private thoughts! I'm not going to invade those!" Dan protested.

"Well, then, at least try to talk to her! Maybe she'll tell you if you just ask her," Clarissa suggested.

Dan rolled his eyes, "Fine, but if she says no, then I'm not pressing any farther on the matter." Standing up, Dan made his way out into the hall and down the stairs, with the pair following behind at a distance, to find Anya in the living room reading a book all alone. "Hey," Dan greeted as he sunk down next to her.

"Hi," Anya returned with a smile.

"So, I hear you had an argument with Blake about him going out with Hannah?" Dan began.

Anya closed her book and breathed in through her nose, "Listen, I've seen how most human and wizard relationships go, and most of them don't turn out so well. I'm just afraid of him getting hurt."

"They're not all like that though, right? Weren't there even some special rules about spouses knowing?" Dan reminded her.

"Look, I know that there are lots of perfectly happy wizard-human couples out there, but not as many as the ones that end in disaster. I just don't think it's safe for him. After our parents passed away, I made a lot of mistakes with Blake, and I just don't want to make another one. This is just a risk I don't want to take," Anya explained.

"Ok, that's reasonable, but why separate Hannah and Blake? I mean, you've met Hannah, right? What is she going to do to break his heart?" Dan pointed out.

"There is nothing wrong with Hannah. I love Hannah, she's the sweetest thing to walk this Earth. It's the powers clashing with the normality that I'm worried about," Anya continued.

"Why?" Dan questioned.

"I've just had bad experience with that sort of thing. I just don't want Blake to suffer from it too," Anya told him. She almost looked like she was trying to fight back tears. "You two can come out now. I know you're there," she called to Blake and Clarissa who emerged from behind the staircase.

"Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean I will!" Blake snapped.

"Please don't argue with me. I'm only trying to do what's best for you," Anya pleaded.

"NO! You don't get to say what's best for me! Not after you left me alone when I needed you most!" Blake shouted.

"Blake-"

"NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! YOU USED TO BE A COLD ASS BITCH AND NOW YOU ACT LIKE ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU'RE SOME FUCKING GODESS! I CAN'T TAKE OT ANYMORE! IF YOU WANTED TO BE THERE FOR ME YOU SHOULD HAVE SHOWN UP WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST!" Blake was crying by now. Tears were streaming down his face and he was shaking with anger.

"Blake, please-"

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!" Blake screeched, and with that, he turned away and zipped out the door.

Anya sighed and held her face in her hands.

"I'm sure he didn't mean that," Dan tried to comfort her putting a hand on her shoulder.

"No, everything he said is right. I did used to be like that. I wasn't there when I should have been, and now he hates me," Anya struggled to say on the verge of tears.
