"Dan, what did you just do?! How did you do that?!" Phil was now demanding him.

"I... Um... Aren't the men with the big, shooty guns a bit of a bigger problem right now?" Dan tried to deflect Phil, but to no avail.

"I know how guns work! What I don't know is how you smashed one into a billion pieces with your mind! And froze water while making it float in midair!" Phil looked over to Clarissa. "There's still water floating in midair!"

Clarissa immediately dropped her hold on the water, causing it to splash down all over the floor. She flashed Dan an apologetic look and he mouthed a quick it's fine to her.

"Dan, this isn't funny! What's going on?!" Phil cried out almost on the verge of tears.

Dan sighed and and stepped over to Phil, taking him by the hands. "Listen. You were never supposed to find out about this because it puts you in serious danger. I promise I will explain everything to you soon, but right now we need to get rid of these men. Ok?"

Phil pressed his lips together and stared at Dan, wondering to himself if agreeing to anything would be the right choice. "I trust you," Phil finally responded.

"Thank you," Dan whispered before turning back to the unconscious man on the floor. "Clarissa, they usually travel in high-tech vans, right? Do you think they might have one outside?"

"Absolutely. We could put the bodies in it and teleport the whole thing to a remote spot, but they always station one other man in the van," Clarissa told him as she began to gather all the water  on the floor back into a floating ball.

"Then that means we'll have to take him out before we do anything else. Alright, let's get the three in the house down to the first floor," Dan ordered as he used his powers to levitate the hunter in the floor and carry him down the stairs.

Phil stood silently, shaking in his shoes. He was beyond confused at his point and he just wanted to know what was happening. Snapping back into reality, Phil brought himself to walk forwards towards the stairs.

"No, no, no. You're staying up here until we know that it's completely safe," Clarissa stopped him.

"But Dan-"

"But Dan knows what he's doing. Just leave him in charge of everything and it will all be ok. The best thing that you can do right now is stay where you will be the most safe."

Phil sighed and ran a frantic hand through his jet black fringe. "Who were those men? The ones with the guns. Why were they here, what did they want?"

"That is a long story that I promise Dan will explain to you as soon as he can, but right now, he needs to do something about this," Clarissa tried to explain to him, but Phil just shook his head.

"I want to know if my boyfriend is ok!" Phil struggled to say as he fought back tears.

Clarissa placed her hands on his shoulders and spoke softly, "Dan is stronger and more powerful than anyone I have ever met. If anyone can do anything, it'd without a doubt be him."

With that, Clarissa left Phil to himself trying to use all of his strength not to let his tears spill over. She quickly headed down the stairs, dropping the water off in the bathroom on the way. When she got outside, Dan already had the three men from in the house lumped in the back of a big, black van with loads of high tech equipment inside of it. In addition to them was a fourth man dressed in the same attire as the others and holding the same type of gun loosely in his unmoving arms.

"That was fast," Clarissa acknowledged as she watched Dan shut the door on them.

"Can't afford to be slow right now, can I?" Dan tried to joke, but he couldn't bring himself to laugh.
