Chapter 10
Echo's POV
The rest of the week went by without a hitch, and the week after the same. So far we've gone to the beach, gone shopping, gone to the Ice Cream Parlor, explored a bit more, or just hung out around the house. I've got a bit more of a tan, and I'm still upset about my watch, and keep thinking about that man. I've not been able to get him out of my head. He's even in my dreams sometimes. Ugh!
Gannon and Vinny have started to slowly get closer, and I think have gone on a date. Each of us is pretty much doing our own thing, and for me that includes reading, lounging around by the pool, or in the gardens, and maybe going down town with some guards, maybe one of the guys or girls, and going to all sorts of markets, but my favorite is the ones with cute knick knacks and things. I've gotten to know the guards a little bit, and typically I get Jack, Ethan, or Nathan. All three are in their mid to late twenties, and I'm almost 18.
I made my way down the stairs and was met with a smiling Gannon, Vinny, and the rest of my friends. Normally this doesn't happen...
"What..." I said and Gannon moved his hand from behind his back and smiled widely. It was a bundle of flowers. I looked at them and smiled. He always gets me flowers three days leading up to my birthday. I don't know why three, but it's three. I took them and smelled them. They were pretty.
"Thank you Gannon." I said softly. He kissed my forehead softly and hugged me. I took the hug because everyone's been distant.
"What's the occasion?" I heard Gulia and Vinny, and Clara both spoke in unison.
"It's almost Echo's birthday!" Gulia's face lit up and she clapped.
"Really?" She said excitedly. I nodded. "What number?" She asked and Luke spoke.
"Eighteen." She did a little dance and hugged me.
"When?" She asked and Gannon spoke.
"In three days." She nodded and squealed.
"We're throwing you a birthday party!" She exclaimed. I shook my head and spoke.
"No please don't. You've done so much already and I-" She gave me a look and smiled.
