Chapter 18

Leo's POV

I was called to the Venici's house over business, that business not including Echo today. I was told she's not come from her room because of some issue between her and her friends. She's been in there for close to a week, not ate, or drank as far as the Venici's know. That pisses me off because it has to be something big.

I dressed myself in black slacks, a white button up, and black dress shoes. I had my hair the typical way, some product, and to the side. I cuffed my shirt, and put on a Rolex. I made my way out of my room and grabbed my phone, and wallet as I exited my house. The guards opened the door and as I got in I told the address and that's where I was going.

I'm worried about Echo, she's beautiful, but the reason I gave her the ring, and made my claim was because she's what I need. She's intelligent, calm, caring, and she somehow is able to be down to earth in all situations and is capable of understanding those around her so easily. She pushes my buttons on purpose, and is a brat but that's because she's not to others. She might think we're not meant to be, but we are.

She knows I make her feel safe. She knows I make her feel some type of way, and I hate to admit it but...she makes me feel like I belong. She makes me calm, and the thought of he makes me smile. I don't want her for her body, I want her for her mind, her personality. It sounds ignorant, or cliche, but...for someone in the business that I'm in, someone like her is a rarity. Something to be cherished, and praised. I can do that.

It frustrates me that she's come from nothing, and it makes me want to give her everything. Since the moment she stood up to Sebastian, my right hand, and disrespected us without a care...I knew she was the one. She had a personal vendetta against us, and didn't care about our reputations, she had innocent intentions but got herself so much farther that she could possibly imagine.

"Daydreaming about the girl again." Sebastian said from the drivers seat.

"Shut up and drive." I said shaking my head.

"She's got you by more than just the balls Leo." He laughed and I glared at him. He snickered as he drive, and I shook my head. He and I have been friends since high school, and in college.

"She's amazing, and she doesn't see it." I muttered and he smiled a genuine smile, rare, but he did.

"You really like her." He said and I nodded. "Well, get her to marry you soon because your parents are not putting the brakes on anything now that the she devil has announced she's not got the ring." He said and I nodded with a sigh.
