Around noon the next day, I went for a walk with Cas. He said that he wanted to just enjoy nature with me. We ended up in a large field, flowers bursting in bloom all around us.

"Dean?" I turned around and saw Sam and Gabe walking towards us, their hands linked together.

"Heya, Sammy," I smiled. I nodded to the archangel. "Dick bag."

He smirked, but his eyes told me that I was almost out of time. "Dean-o."

Sam glared at me, but I shrugged it off. I took a deep breath, "Sammy, Cas, I have to tell you guys something." They both stared at me. "I'm gay," I said after a long pause.

They both burst out laughing, grins etched into their faces. "You had me worried, Dean," Sam said.

"Yeah..." I trailed off. "That wasn't what I had to tell you. I just wanted to hear your laugh one last time."

My brother and husband froze, "What do you mean 'one last time?'" Cas asked sternly.

I felt a tear slip out of my eye. "I'm so sorry."

"For what?" Sam yelled, panicked.

"I..." I trailed off, unable to tell them.

"Dean!" Cas nearly shouted.

I looked at them. "I'm out of time, guys. I just wanted to see you again." I etched their faces into my memory. "One last time..."

"Why did you do?" Sam demanded.

When I didn't reply, Cas grabbed my collar, choking on tears. "What did you do?" he asked softly, his voice cracking.

"I gave up my eternity," I said.

Cas shook his head in disbelief. "No... That would mean you're a-"

"A nothing," I confirmed. "I love you so much, baby. I had to see you one last time. I had to ask you to marry me. It was the only way I could see you again." My thumb swiped at the stray tears on his cheeks. "Please forgive me," I whispered.

He shook his head, "No, you can't do this! I just got you back," he whimpered, clinging to my shirt.

I held onto him, squeezing my eyes shut. "I love you so much, baby. Don't ever forget that." I had to nearly pry myself away from him to hug Sam one last time.

"We'll get you back," Sam vowed as I hugged him.

"You can't," I laughed sadly. "There's no way to get a nothing back."

"There's always a way," he argued. "And I'm gonna find it."

Gabe rested a hand on Sam's arm. "Sam, there really is no way to get a nothing back," he said softly. "I'm so sorry."

Sam held me tighter, his crippling hold squeezing the air from my lungs. "Sammy," I rasped. He loosened his hold and I sucked in a lungful of air. "I love you, Sam."

He laughed, sniffing. "No chick flick moments."

I smiled sadly. "Right. Bitch."

"Jerk."

"One thing I never told you, Sammy," I said softly.

He frowned, "What else haven't you told me?"

I hung my head. "I actually do like chick flicks," I mumbled.

Sam laughed, the last thing I heard my little brother do before I could feel myself disappearing. I looked down, and sure enough, my feet had nearly vanished. I looked back up and desperately kissed Cas one last time.

"Don't forget me, Cas."

"How could I?" he cried.

I held him tightly. "I love you, Cas. I love you so much."

He shook his head, tears flowing freely from the corners of his eyes. "You promised me forever."

I smiled sadly, caressing his cheek with my hand as it slowly faded out of existence. "Sometimes, forever ends sooner than you think," I said, smiling for the last time. My last words were but whispers carried on the breeze as my form melted away into my final oblivion.
