The bus ride was LONG. Adeline had been riding for a solid five hours and there were still about three hours left until they made it to their destination. She thought that everyone would be dead asleep, but they decided that this was their time to sing at the top of their lungs and scream like rabid monkeys. She was glad that she was sitting by herself, because she would totally be slapping someone right about now. She could hear Jessica and Kinley whispering in the seats in front of her.

"I can promise that at least ONE of these people at the camp will sleep with me. I don't think I can go a whole month without physical contact. I think I am going to try and get with a worker. Maybe they aren't as innocent as they act." Jessica says to Kinley. Adeline laughs to herself. Wow, and her mom thought that everyone here were good influences.

"I don't think that's a very smart idea." Kinley replies quietly. Jessica just shrugs.

With a sigh, Adeline puts in her headphones to block out the ruckus. The song "Pity Party" by Melanie Martinez comes on and Adeline almost laughs out loud of how relevant that song is to the very moment.

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to." Sounds about right.

As we pull up to the convention center, the screams of all the kids saying, "It's so big!" "Wow this is so cool!" "This is going to be a great week!" Annoy Adeline. It shouldn't annoy her so bad, but it does. She has to admit though, the place did look pretty awesome. The convention center was made of pure glass and some metal. There was a large fountain in front of the building with water pouring out the spouts of it. She might as well get used to the view, she will be spending most of her summer in this very building. After they park and hop out of the bus she notices a group of people with matching shirts dancing in front of the entrance doors.

"Oh my god" Adeline mumbles to herself. But apparently a kid named Cason heard her mumble.

"What the hell" He mumbles as well. Adeline laughs out loud at his comment. How old are we? Five? He looks over to Adeline and smirks. He is kinda cute when he smirks, Adeline thinks in her head for a split second. Adeline has known Cason for a long time, ever since she was in fourth grade, but they were never close friends or anything.

"This should be interesting." Adeline says to Cason. He nods in agreement and starts walking to the entrance. As she gets closer she can hear the song "Church Clap" by KB playing. She's not gonna lie, it's a pretty catchy song.

"Hey kids!" She hears. A girl with blonde hair and blue eyes comes dancing over. She starts clapping to the song right into Adeline's face. "We have a dance to teach you guys! Come on!" She grabs Adeline's arm and pulls her over to a group of workers. Adeline's anxiety starts kicking up to an extreme. She DID NOT want to dance in front of all these people. She looks over to the girl who pulled her over and reads that her name is Mason. Some of the kids from the youth group join the group and start to learn the dance as well.

"So the first thing you do run up three steps, then run back three steps, then you are going to criss cross your feet, and finally you're going to whip." Did she really just say that we were going to whip? Adeline shakes her head. There is no way she is going to whip in front of these people. She could feel Jessica and Kinley staring at her and laughing. She could also see them staring at the very attractive guy workers and probably thinking of a way to get them in their bed by the end of the month. Actually Jessica was probably the only one thinking that. Adeline could tell that Kinley wanted to dance but was too nervous. That makes two of them. Adeline calls Kinley over to dance with her and Kinley shakes her head.

"Come on!" Adeline smiles. If she is going to look stupid, then she wants to look stupid with her friend. Kinley finally gives in and comes over to dance. When the music starts, everyone starts clapping. Then the dancing starts. It wasn't too bad. The dance was easy, and it was actually fun going along to the beat of the song. Her and Kinley start dancing a laughing together, and she could tell Jessica was getting mad. Jessica was the type of friend that if she didn't have attention on herself, she will do something to have the attention. As she was looking over to Jessica, she notices that some of the assumed workers were standing in the building and watching them dance. They weren't dressed in the shirt that everyone else was wearing though. There were six guys, and one girl. The girl was super pretty and reminded Adeline of Hayley Williams from the band Paramore. They were all smiling and laughing except one guy.
The guy had long dark brown hair, pale skin, a bit of scruff of his face, and was staring straight at Adeline. Adeline had to admit that he was extremely gorgeous and fit the black shirt, black skinny jeans, and boots look very well. Adeline could feel the heat rising in her cheeks so she looks back over to Jessica who apparently saw who she was looking at. All the sudden Jessica decides to finally come over and dance with the group. But Adeline could tell that there was a motive to her sudden decision. The music starts to get faster and as they were changing directions of the dance, she could see Jessica's foot stick out at the last minute and Adeline could feel herself falling. It wasn't a small fall, it was a face first smack to the ground fall. The second her face smacks the ground, the music stops and everyone comes running over to make sure she was okay. She could feel the warm sensation of blood running down her face and could feel the pain in her nose from the impact of the concrete. She looks back up and happens to have looked straight into the eyes of the strange guy worker. He looks at her with a straight face through the window. All the sudden, he turns around and walks away.
Adeline doesn't know why she feels sad watching him leave, but she does. She also feels completely embarrassed because she just basically busted her face in front of the hottest guy she's ever seen in her life. She then looks over to Jessica who is smirking while watching him walk away. Did she do that on purpose? Mason helps her up and puts a tissue around her nose while calling for someone to call the nurse.

"Oh my gosh! Adeline I am sooo sorry! I must have tripped you while I was dancing. I feel so bad!" Jessica screams way to dramatically. Maybe it sounded louder because all the sudden Adeline could feel her head pounding. Jessica was definitely faking it. Like Adeline said, Jessica ALWAYS needed the attention. Even if it was from a guy that she had never spoken to. Kinley looks over to Jessica with disgust. She knows that Jessica did it on purpose.

I guess Adeline found Jessica's first victim in operation "Sleep with as many guys at camp as she can." And Adeline was definitely NOT getting into that drama.

Adeline tried her best to keep standing, but she really just couldn't. She could feel herself swaying back and forth and hearing workers screaming for the nurse.

This is why she doesn't dance.
