"What the hell was that all about?" Jessica asked Adeline as they walked out of group seminar. Adeline just shrugged her shoulders. She didn't even know what just happened. After her quick remark back to Asher, they sat there in silence and listened to the teacher. Well Adeline pretended to listen to the teacher- she honestly just didn't really care all that much. Jessica looked annoyed, that's what she got for choosing to flirt with all the guys. She could've easily sat by Asher. Adeline would've even moved over for her. He was so cocky, it was disgusting to Adeline.
"Hey guys!" Kinley screamed and waved as we made our way back to our youth groups. "How did your class go?" She asked.
"It was okay." Adeline replied. Jessica just nodded in agreement.
"I met some pretty cool girls, so I don't feel that alone." Kinley smiled. Adeline felt nothing but happiness for Kinley. She also felt a little jealous, she wished she was as good at making friends like Kinley was.
"That's awesome Kinley. I haven't really met anyone yet."
"That's such a lie. Adeline was in the back with Asher. She was practically fuming." Jessica laughed and Kinley looked shocked.
"Asher? The band dude?!" Kinley exaggerated. Adeline rolled her eyes.
"Yeah. I guess he's in our class." She replied.
"Well that's good, right? He's totally hot." Jessica nodded her head while Adeline shook it violently.
"No. He's obnoxious." Kinley just laughed. They all made their way to the dining hall to eat lunch. For lunch they ate hamburgers, hotdogs, salad, and macaroni. After lunch, they had free-time for six hours to do whatever they wanted. Everyone decided they wanted to go to the beach. Adeline didn't mind the beach but she really hated the sand, sharks, water- okay maybe she did hate the beach. All the girls ran up into the condo and threw on their bathing suits. They weren't allowed to wear two pieces, so Adeline had to wear a t-shirt over her bikini she brought. It was almost 100 degrees outside and Adeline felt like she had sweat pouring off her body by the time they walked down to the beach.
When they finally made it down to the water, they all threw their stuff on the sand and sped their way into the depths. Everyone was screaming and having a good time. Everyone except for Adeline. Adeline stood on the shoreline and watched everybody splash around. She even noticed Cason splashing water onto Jessica which made her mad because her makeup was ruined. Adeline started to laugh at the scene. Cason noticed her laughing and cupped his hands over his mouth to scream, "You coming in or not? The water feels great!" Adeline just shook her head and shaded her eyes from the beating sun.
"I'm good!" She screamed back.
"Chicken!" He mocked. Adeline just laughed.
"Are you scared?" Cason continued to mock.
"I am NOT scared!" Adeline yelled back. Even though she was terrified. Who knew where the sharks were? She also didn't like when the small fish gathered around her feet as if she were a jungle gym. The ocean was just full of fish AND human pee! Hell no, she would not go in that water. Cason started slowly making his way to the surface and Adeline's heart rate increased.
"Cason, what are you doing?" Adeline slowly questioned while walking backwards. He didn't answer and all the sudden was running full speed towards Adeline.
"Come on! Time to swim!" He grabbed Adeline by the legs and lifted her up onto his shoulder. She screamed and screamed for him to put her down, and she also found herself laughing.
"Put me down!" She beat on his back. She was so high off the ground since Cason was already six feet tall. "You asshole!" She mumbled so the youth leaders wouldn't hear. He continued to run into the water with Adeline on his shoulders screaming.
