The rest of their free time was spent aiding to Jessica's every need. Well, not Adeline's free time. Adeline decided to grab a shower before the other girls started calling dibs. As she stood in the shower, her thoughts clouded her brain.

I was distracted.. that's all.

She looked down at her body and almost laughed out loud. Distracted by what? She was certainly NOT blessed in the chest area at all. Barely a B cup. Sure, she had curves and somewhat of an ass. But the fact that Asher said he was distracted had her confused. She realized that she was blushing and immediately turned on the cold water to shake her of the annoying feeling she had in her stomach.

They had worship tonight which meant she had to see him up on the stage, and she didn't know why she was dreading it so much.

After towel drying her hair, she walked back into the bedroom to change into her outfit for worship. Night worship is supposed to be more serious, which meant it was respectful to look somewhat nice.

" I don't know what I should wear tonight. So little to choose from." Allison says to Jessica while holding a light pink dress to her body and looking into the full length mirror.

"That dress is so pretty, I think you should wear that one." Jessica replies.

The dress was far from pretty, but Adeline was keeping her mouth shut.

"What are you going to wear Jessica?" Allison asks. Jessica shrugs while lying in the bed with her "hurt" ankle elevated.

"Probably a dress. So it doesn't get in the way of my ankle." Adeline scoffed while looking through her small selection of dresses she brought. They were all black and grey, while everyone else's were bright colors. She decided on her skinny jeans instead. Kinley walked in wearing a simple navy blue t-shirt dress with dark brown ankle boots.

"You look hot Kin." Adeline comments while laughing. Kinley spins in a circle and laughs.

"Why thank you."

Adeline throws on a maroon t-shirt and a black cardigan with her skinny jeans. She sweeps some dark eyeshadow on her eyes, applies some dark red lipstick, and finishes her outfit with a black choker and black combat boots. This was Adeline's way of dressing up, and she felt good. The only thing that was totally killing her vibe was the slight bruise forming on her nose from the awesome face plant to the ground.

"Can someone help me get into my dress please?" Jessica pleads. Adeline and Kinley look at each and scream "NOT IT" at the same time while running out the bedroom door.

"YOU GUYS TOTALLY SUCK!" They heard Jessica scream over their laughter.

Dinner consisted of cheese ravioli and garlic bread and Adeline felt like she was in heaven. Her mom rarely ever cooked at home. She either had to go buy some food for herself, or scavenge for something at home. She thought it couldn't get any better until they brought in the desert. BROWNIES.

"I am going to gain so much weight this month." She says to her table as she makes her way over to the chocolate. She grabs the biggest brownie and scoops some vanilla ice cream for the top.

"A fan of chocolate I assume?" A voice is heard over her shoulder. Not just any voice. She turns around to piercing green eyes.

Asher.

"Isn't everyone?" She answers nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders while taking a huge bite. He raises his eyebrows, almost looking impressed.

"I'm not." He counters. "Allergic."

"Of course you are." She snorts. After a couple seconds of awkward silence she asks, "Aren't you supposed to be practicing or something?"

"We have to eat too." He jerks his head over to his bandmates. Adeline didn't even realize they were there. She was too focused on the stupid brownies. She realized she was standing there way too long saying absolutely nothing. All the sudden she feels his thumb rub across her chin and she stills immediately. "Your lipstick has transferred to chin stick." Adeline could feel her face becoming extremely red and hot and she looks to the ground while wiping her chin.

"Oh thanks... so um good luck tonight." She responds while speed walking back to her table. Good luck tonight? Stupid Adeline! Couldn't come up with something better than that?

As she sits back down at her table she can feel eyes on her. Adeline looks over to Kinley with a "what are you looking at?" face.

"What was that about?" She asks quietly, as the rest of the table continues their small talk.

"I got my brownie." Adeline rejoices while plunging her spoon back into her desert.

"You know what I meant."

"I honestly have no idea." She sighs while casting a glance over at Johnathan's Band. Asher was sitting quietly at the table while everyone else was laughing and talking. Occasionally he would respond or offer a smirk. She noticed that he was constantly looking down at his phone. She wondered what was so important.

"Do I have lipstick on my chin?" She asks Kinley, in almost a panic manner.

"You did when you walked over to get your brownie." She laughs.

"Kinley!! You couldn't have warned me?" Adeline almost screams with embarrassment. Kinley was almost laughing until she felt tears in her eyes.

"You were very determined to get that brownie. I didn't have time." She retorts. Adeline tried to be mad, but seeing Kinley's face made her laugh.

"You so lost best friend points on that one." Adeline warns. Adeline couldn't help but feel a burn on her chin where his thumb was placed.

Worship began thirty minutes after dinner. The youth group was assigned seats in the back so seeing the band was impossible. It didn't really bother Adeline all that much. Brian comes out, gives his announcements for the night and introduces the band. The second the band hits the stage the room grows silent. The energy in the room becomes magnifying. Everyone waiting for the first note to hit.

The first couple notes are played on the acoustic guitar, and the lights shine onto Johnathan who is playing. The lights are then shone onto Hayley who starts singing the lyrics,

"At first I am afraid but not because of fear
But the Holy of Holies is drawing me near
Your voice like thunder shakes the ground I'm on

So hide my face in the shadow of Your wings, oh Lord
Hide my sin from the beauty here before Your throne
Your throne"

Her voice was captivating and beautiful. Adeline almost wished she was closer. All the sudden the lights were shone onto the rest of the band who all started singing together.

"Hallelujah for the blood of the Lamb that was slain
Hallelujah for the blood of the Lamb that was slain
And so we enter in to see Your face, yeah
We enter in to see Your face, oh God"

The whole room felt like it was floating. Asher's voice rang through the speakers. It was low and raspy, and complimented Hayley's voice so well. Adeline closed her eyes and just listened to the music. It almost made her emotional but she realized that she had no reason to cry, so she snuffed her emotions. The band played five songs, all slow, all beautiful. It ended way too fast. When the preacher walked the stage, Adeline's shoulders sagged in frustration. She was disappointed, and didn't know if she was disappointed for the music being over or the fact that the boy with the captivating eyes and heavenly voice wasn't on stage anymore.

The song the band was singing is linked above. I love the song and I hope you do too!

Sorry I don't update much. I get so busy with life that I forget. I really love writing this book though and I will continue to write it because I have no many ideas for it.
