Hello! This chapter is dedicated to LilyAvenue, my new friend and lovely reader of this story! This picture on the side, (as you might've guessed) is the outfit Noelle wears in this chapter - but it is the outfit at the end of this chapter, and not her party outfit!

Hope you enjoy Chapter Five of Sunny Side Up, Honey!

Five – “New Morning, New Day.”

Noelle

“Lucie, wait up!” I cried out to my best friend, who had staggered half way down the street in tears. I shouldn’t have left her with that guy, I thought, ashamed in myself, and I shouldn’t have drank that much! Despite not knowing exactly how much I had drunk, I knew I had drunk a lot, due to my vision going in and out of focus, and the slight stagger in my step.

Though I was having a little difficulty running, my mind had sobered up pretty quickly when I saw my friend was in need. What was I doing before Lucie ran past, anyway? I thought, still running down the street. I really can’t remember . . . Hmpf – it couldn’t have been the important! I decided, because at that moment, nothing was more important than my upset best friend.

Lucie continued to run down the street, round the corner, and down the next street. I only caught up with her when she reached my house, as she was fumbling around with the door handle, attempting to open the door without a key. Of course, I was the one with the responsibility of the key.

I gently pushed Lucie out the way, stepped up towards the door. I quickly reached into my bra and pulled out the house key I had placed there before the party. Bra’s – the best place to put a key when you’re going to a party, I thought to myself, unless you plan on getting some ‘activity’ that night, you know it’ll be there when you get back home.

Sliding the key into the brass lock, the door clicked softly. I pushed open the door and ushered Lucie into the house. She ran upstairs in tears, not saying anything. Sighing, I closed the door softly, careful not to be too loud, as an elderly couple lived next door.

Softly ascending the stairs, I tried not to fall over. Watching my every step, I slowly made my way to my bedroom. Straining to see in the dark, there was Lucie, already sound asleep on the bed – on my bed! “We’ll be having words in the morning, Miss James!” I whispered playfully, even though I knew she couldn’t hear me.

Too tired to strip off, I slid onto the bed and fell asleep almost instantly. Throughout my slumber, visions of a toned, dark-haired, charming guy danced through my dreams.

*~*~*

My eyes fluttered open with a start. A terrible feeling flooded through my insides, and my brain told me that my stomach was about to erupt.

I ran to my ensuite, tore open the door, and sank to the toilet. Vomit slid up and down my throat, causing me to gag and retch. Once all the contents of my stomach had been flushed away, I stood up shakily. Glancing at the small clock by the side of the sink, I discovered that it was one o’clock in the afternoon.

Making my way down the stairs, my stomach rumbled. I approached the kitchen quickly, fetching myself a glass of water and some pain relief tablets. Swiftly swallowing the miniscule tablet and gulping down the refreshing drink, I sighed in contentment.

Deciding to rustle up some breakfast, I looked in my refrigerator for something to cook that both Lucie and I would like. Eggs? Toast? Bacon?

Mmm, bacon . . . I snagged the packet of bacon and grabbed a frying pan from inside one of my many cupboards. I turned the stove on and placed a few slices of the bacon into the pan. It began to sizzle, the delicious aroma filling my nostrils.
