NIALL: “Millie, sweetie what’s wrong?” I lightly tap on her door. I already know what’s wrong. She’s been acting exactly like you do when it’s your time of the month for the past few days. I just hope she knows that she can tell me. Obviously this was the worst possible time for her to get her period, but I’m here for her. I mean, she’s my baby girl. “Go away dad!” I feel the pillow hit the other side of the door. “Mill, I know what’s wrong. There’s no reason to be embarrassed.” I hear her shift from her bed and come to the door. Her cheeks are stained with tears, and I can’t help but feel so bad for her. I would bleed and have cramps for the rest of my life if it meant that she didn’t have to. She reaches her arms around me so I can give her a famous Horan hug. “I don’t want to grow up daddy.” She starts crying again so I bend down so she can look right at me. “Listen to me Millie,” I tilt her chin up so that she can see me through her tears, “Growing up is a part of life. It means that you’re doing everything right. You will always be my little girl though. I don’t care if you get pregnant in high school, or run away, or say you hate me. You will always be my little girl, and nothing will ever change that. You’re growing up, but you’re not growing up all at once.” I smile and pull into my arms again. Maybe I’m not so bad at this dad thing. I definitely need to call you to deal with the mechanics of the situation though.

LOUIS: “guys, I don’t know what’s wrong with Lacy. She’s really depressed, and angry, and moody.” Niall gives me a weird look, and the rest of the boys just all kind of try to keep their gazes away from me. “Louis,” Niall looks like he’s sitting on the words uncomfortably, “I think Lacy probably started her period.” I just stare at him because the words won’t come out. “What!” all the other guys look at me and kind of nod. “She’s only twelve!” Zayn sighs and leans forward on his elbows. “It’s even worse when you think about the fact that it’s possible for her to get pregnant now…” My eyes get wide and I get up to go have a talk with Lacy. I tap on her door and walk in. “Lacy, its daddy. Are you okay munchkin. I’m sorry she’s not here for this, but mommy has some girl things if you need them.” That only makes her cry more, so I go sit on her bed.  To rub her back. “I don’t need them dad!” She sobs into her pillow. “Honey it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It happens to all girls.” She sits up and glares at me. “No! I don’t them because I didn’t start my period! Lilly did!” She points across the room at her sister who’s now blushing harder than Niall. “What?” Lacy just continues to cry more while I walk over to Lacy. “Dad,” Lilly whispers, I bend down so I can hear a little better. “I feel bad for Lacy. We’re twins. Shouldn’t we start at the same time?” I get up and grab my phone out of my pocket. “Girls. I think this might be a talk for a mother because I don’t really know how this stuff works. I had Lilly the phone and she gives me a little half smile.

ZAYN: I’m walking through the house, picking up the laundry and trash. I don’t know how you do this every day and still get dinner on the table without problem. Next time you go away I’m either coming with you, or hiring a maid, but I definitely have way more respect for what you do now. I start to go into Tamatha’s room, but I stop at the door when I hear her talking on the phone. “Yeah I got my period. It fucking hurts.” I grumble at the foul language my sixteen year old daughter’s using. “Yeah, it’s my first period.” My eyebrows raise. I figured she would have gotten it already. Camilla’s even gotten it. I lean against the wall to listen in more. “No I’m not happy about it! This just means I have to worry about getting pregnant now!” I nearly pass out at the information that I didn’t need to hear. I rush into her room and she quickly hangs up her phone. “Uh hey dad.” She smiles and picks up her magazine. “Hey Tammy, you uh, need to talk about anything?” I look at her with concern. “Nope.” She gives me a cheery answer. “Do you need to talk to your mom about anything? Because I can call her.” I know she’s worried that I heard by the look on her face. “No dad. I’m okay.” I purse my lips into a fake smile, and begin to leave. “Well, I’m here if you need anything baby girl.” She looks down, sad. “Thanks dad.” She picks up her phone again before I close the door to go outside and call you.

HARRY: “Daddy!” I hear Amelia scream from the bathroom and run to the door as fast as I can. “What’s wrong sweet heart?” I can hear her sobbing, but the door’s locked and I can’t get in. “Can you call mommy for me?” I sigh and put my head against the door. “Yeah.” I pull out my phone and dial your number. I already know what’s wrong, the doctor said that the hormonal imbalance would either cause her period to come really early on in life, or really late. Of course it was early. She’s only nine. You answer the phone with a perky “Hello.” But you’re not as cheery when I let you know what’s going on. “My baby,” You sight, “Okay, let me talk to her, and then take her out to a movie or something and I’ll be home in a few hours. I’ll catch a red eye if I have to.” I nod, even though I know you can’t see, and knock on the door to hand her the phone. Her little hand shoots out through the crack to take it, and she stays in there, and talks to you for about two hours. You eventually calm her down enough for me to take her out.

LIAM: “Dad, can we go home?” I feel Elice pull on my sleeve and look down at her confused. “Elice we just got here, and it’s your favorite restaurant. Why do you want to leave?” She rolls her eyes and looks angry. “I just want to go home okay!” I can’t help but be a bit caught off guard that she snapped at me. “El, you can tell me why we need to leave, or we can stay.” She looks like she’s about to cry so I bend to her level. She turns and looks at Camron, and make sure he’s not listening. “Dad. I started my period.” My eyes widen and I cough. “Oh, um. Yeah lets go home. Do you want to call mom.” She nods before turning to walk out of the restaurant with her arms around her stomach. I don’t really know how to handle this, so I’ll just leave it to you.
