Zayn: It caught you off guard when you found it in the back of your closet. Picking it up, you sat down on the floor, staring at it in awe as you rested your head against the door frame. You could have sworn you threw the ring out, but there it was, in your hands. Tears sprung to your eyes as you remembered him pulling it out and sliding the beautiful promise ring onto your finger. Those old, broken promises that don't mean a thing. "Babe, you ready?" your boyfriend called from downstairs. You wiped your tears away and stashed the old ring. Heading downstairs, you mustered up a small smile. "Ready," you lied, your voice small and weak as you thought about how nobody in the world can replace your first and only true love.

Liam: As you packed the last of your belongings into a small box, you saw a small paper lying on the floor. Raising a brow, you set the box on your naked bed and picked it up. You automatically knew what it was as you saw the running ink on the creased piece of loose leaf. Smiling softly, you read the note to yourself, the one Liam wrote for you one morning he had a surprise call to the studio. He left it on your pillow, along with already made breakfast in the kitchen. You let a small tear drip onto the crumpled sheet before folding it into a small square. As you tucked it in the box, your fiance came up to make sure everything was okay. "I'm fine ... just ... gonna miss this place." He hugged you tightly as you let out small, silent cries, thinking of how this room was the one you and Liam spent long nights in, the happiest moments you've ever experienced.

Louis: "Are you ready yet," your friend groaned from downstairs, making you chuckle. "Almost! Give me a second, yeah? We are going on blind dates." You heard her groan again before you laughed to yourself, applying the last of your mascara with a steady hand. Just as you placed the tube back into your make up bag, you saw a blue, sparkly hair clip shining from inside. You picked it up, gaping a bit at how you still had it. Louis gave it to you as a gift a while back, making sure you kept it with you at all times for good luck. "You have to promise me that you'll keep this on you ... for luck ... no matter what, I'll be there for you, by your side, as long as you have it." "Louis, you-" "No ... promise me." "I promise." The memory alone brought tears to your eyes, but a small smile to your lips. "I promise ..." you whispered, clutching it in your hand before you heard your friends voice again. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" you shouted before placing the small accessory in your pocket.

Harry: "Go fuck yourself!" You yelled before slamming the door behind your now ex boyfriend. You weren't even upset or mad or ... frankly, you weren't anything, you just wanted him out. Trudging upstairs, you flopped down on your bed, a sound, sort of like a small piece of metal hitting the floor, caught your attention. You looked around, not sure what you were looking for exactly before you stepped on it. A small, metal paper airplane. You looked down at it, twirling it in your fingers. The thought alone made the tears that were supposed to be streaming down your face from your break up, fall. "Harry, didn't you get rid of that chain ages ago," you remember asking him as he found it lying around his flat. "I thought I did ... guess not ..." he slipped the charm off of the chain before he handed it to you. "What am I supposed to do with a mini paper airplane?" "Keep it ... whenever I'm away and you miss me, hold it. If you're sad and I'm not there to kiss those tears away, hold it. Make believe you're flying to me ... think about how I'm just a flight away if you need me ..." Thinking back on the moment made you smile sadly, your vision blurring. "Just a flight away ..." you mumbled to yourself before holding it tightly in your palm, crying into your pillow.

Niall: "Is there a specific reason as to why you want me to have this?" You recalled asking Niall as he handed you his guitar pick. "Yes. You're going to make it into Uni, I know you are. But ... just in case you feel differently, keep that pick on you. It's my lucky pick, used it at my first show ... but I want you to have it ..." You smiled at him as he smiled back at you, wrapping you in a tight hug, "you're perfect," you whispered to him. "I love you," he whispered back. And as you laid on your stomach on the top bunk in your dorm, you smiled through your tears. It slipped out of your book, the same one you used to study for the test you took to get into school. It brought you more than luck, it brought you heartbreak. You couldn't stop seeing the sad tears well up in his eyes as you told him you couldn't bear anymore of a distance between you two. Still madly in love with each other, but knowing you had to part, he nodded, hugging you tightly. "Promise to keep it with you forever?" His voice cracked and you held him closer, "I promise, Niall ... I love you so much, I'm so sorry." "Don't be ... I'm so proud of you ... you deserve it ..." You sighed at the memory, wiping away the tears before they fell and placed the guitar pick in your book, putting the book safely under your pillow. "Forever ..." you smiled softly, laying your head down.
