NIALL: You stand in all black, unable to breathe. You haven’t stopped crying for two weeks, and this is the first time you’ve come out of your home. Your triplet boys are only four, and they don’t understand what’s happening. Your husband cried with you for the first two days, but he hasn’t said a word to anyone since then. When he gets up for work he just showers, gets dressed, and leaves. When he comes home he goes to sleep and repeats the cycle. As he’s standing next to you, he’s as pale and as still as a statue, and his pain is clearly visible in his eyes. You watch as the casket the size of an infant is lowered into the earth. You feel a wave of anger rush through your veins and you try to lunge forward at the casket, but Niall catches you at the waist. He holds you as he lets you crumple to the ground in defeat. You fall together. He cries with you, and you let out a scream of pain. How could her life be over before it’s even started? She had her whole life ahead of her, and it was just ripped away. You can feel Niall’s tears dripping onto you. The most painful part is that you two still have to go on your lives. You have to live life and continue even though she can’t. You two stayed on the ground like that until no-one was left but your boys, and Harry who, despite his wife’s attempts to let you be alone, stayed because he knew that you two couldn’t be alone right now, and you probably wouldn’t be able to be alone for a while. You needed friends. Losing a child is hard, but it’s even harder if you’re left to lose it alone.

LOUIS: “Hey Girls.” Louis calls through the house to your twin girls. “Mommy and daddy are home from the hospital.” The girls come running through the house to give you big hugs. They know not to hug you too tight though. You still haven’t told them about the recent unfortunate event, but they’ll notice in a second or two. “Mommy,” Lacy tugs on your dress, “Where’s our baby brother? Don’t tell me daddy left him at the hospital.” You let out a sad chuckle, and Louis takes the reins. “Girls, let’s go in the living room and have a little talk,” He picks them up and carries them into the living room where you all sit down. You’ve been fighting to hold back the tears even though everyone keeps telling you that it’s okay to cry. You sit next to Louis and grab his arm. “Okay girls,” Louis purses his lips and grabs your hand so that you know you’re not alone. “Do you remember when Granddad got sick, and decided that it was time for him to go home to go live with God?” They nod their heads while the twiddle their little thumbs. “Well, your baby brother decided that, while he really wanted to meet his big sisters and his mommy and daddy, he wasn’t ready to leave his home with God yet.” Louis squeezes your hand when the girls look up at him. “He’s just visiting their though, right? He’ll be back soon?” You can’t take it anymore, and you just start crying. Louis looks at the girls with a sad expression. “No girls.” The crawl off of their daddy’s lap and onto yours so that they can give you a hug. “It’s okay mommy, don’t cry.” Lilly brushes a tear from your cheek while Lacy kisses your forehead. You know that it’ll be okay, it’ll just take some time. You have your beautiful baby girls and your wonderful husband to help you through it though.

ZAYN: “Happy Birthday Joseph…” you kneel down onto the wet dirt. You decided to come alone toady. You know that you’re the only one that hasn’t moved on. You seem to be the only one who still cares after sixteen years. After about his seventh birthday everyone started losing interest. You usually just come on this day and sit there. You talk to him about what’s been happening, and how everyone’s doing, and you always leave him flowers. Today was different. You were alone for the first time ever. You left a note at home telling them where you were. It was different without them though. You sat there, and for the first time in fifteen year, you cried about it. You could remember that day as if it had happened yesterday. It was painful to relive it. It was nice to cry about it for once though. You must have cried for hours before you felt a tap on your shoulder and you looked up to see Zayn standing above you with flowers. You smiled and stood up to cry into his shoulders. When you looked though, there were your girls, and all the boys, and their families all walking towards you. With flowers, and cake, and balloons, and food. “What’s this?” You raised an eyebrow at him. “You don’t think I’d miss my only son’s sixteenth birthday do you?” You smile and wrap your arms around his neck to cry into your shoulder. You all have a nice little picnic and talk about who you all thought he would have been. If he would have ended up a jock, or a nerd, or a musician, or an artist. It was nice, and you know that even though he never met anyone, he is still so loved.

HARRY: Dylan’s your first child Since Harry and you have only been married for a year. You’re actually his God Parents. Dylan’s been through a lot in the past few months. Louis, his wife, and Dylan were the picture perfect family, then everything changed. Louis wife got pregnant again, and they were so happy, but when the baby was due, and they went in to give birth, it was a still birth. It all went downhill from there. They were working so hard to get back on their feet, and they were doing so well. You all thought that they might even try to have another baby again soon, but one day they all went out for a drive, and Louis was texting. They flew off the road. Louis and his wife died instantly. Dylan would have died to if he wouldn’t have been wearing his seatbelt. It’s only been about a month since he’s been with you guys. He hasn’t spoken, which isn’t really that unusual. It’s natural for a child to build a wall when these kinds of things happen, but he hasn’t really done anything. He hasn’t cried or whined or sobbed, and he always has the same expression. He looks distant and uninterested. You know that he understands what’s happening since he’s ten, but he just doesn’t seem to be comprehending. The therapist said it might take him a while to come out of his shell, but to just act normal anyways. Treat him like everything’s fine. You look at him through the rearview mirror until you catch his eye. “Hey Dylan, what do you want to do for dinner?” He just points at you to look at the road while you’re driving. You’re careful with your driving patterns because you know that it’s hard for him to get in the car at the moment. You don’t look at him this time, just keep your eyes on the road, “Sweetie, come on it’s your birthday. What do you want to eat?” When he doesn’t answer you sigh and flash Harry a quick, and saddened, glance. Out of the corner of your eye, you see him flip around in his seat to look at Dylan. As soon as he does you hear a shriek, and a thump, and pull over. Once you get into a parking lot you put the brakes on and turn to look at him. He’s in a crumpled little ball on the seat, with his hands over his eyes. You look at Harry worried. He reads your mind and pulls out his phone to call the therapist. “Hello…” You zone out while he’s talking to focus on Dylan. “Dyl, what’s wrong?” You rub his shoulder, but as soon as you make one little stroke he violently rips himself from you and begins to scream and hold his head, as if it would fall out of place. His tears are flooding down his face faster than his heartbeat. He looks at you frantic and scared “Mom and Dad…It wasn’t…it wasn’t an accident!”

LIAM: “Mr. Payne, we’re going to have to do an emergency C-section.” You feel the blood drain from your face in a panic as you look up at Liam. He just looks down at you and reaches to hold your hand. “It’s going to be okay sweet heart, don’t worry. I’m here, and you’re doing great.” He smiles at you, which normally wouldn’t bother you, but his overwhelmingly positive attitude was getting on your last nerve. You squeezed his hand and started crying. “Shut up Liam! This isn’t okay!” He looks a little hurt, but he knows that you’re scared so he lets it go, and continues to hold your hand as they wheel you into another room to do the C-section. He stays right there with you the whole time. You’re pretty woozy, but there’s enough of you left to know that there should be crying. “Liam, where’s our baby?” You look at him confused. “He just turns to you with tears in his eyes and starts bawling and screaming. You can’t do a thing but lay there and wait for them to stitch you back up. A tears falls from your cheek because you know that you won’t be bringing your baby girl home.
