Betrayal, noun: the action of betraying one's country, a group, or a person; treachery.

"Tricked?"

"And why are you wearing such a fancy suit?" Ben chuckled at Chris' question.

"Feh, this is just my casual suit, nothing like my Gucci ones." The boys jaws dropped, Ben looked practically perfect. Perfect hair, styled into a curled quiff; perfect figure, a small waist and well-defined abs; perfect attire, clean black suit with no visible crinkles. Not even his black shoes managed to carry a single streak of mud from the grounds of the forest. How did he change from a dirty street urchin to this? "And yes, you have been tricked. It was the perfect person to be tricked by, to be honest with you." He smirked,

"And you are so perfect, why?" Tyler asked, getting sassy.

"Well, allow me to introduce myself properly." He adjusted his collar, "My name's Ben Pierce, Head in the Detective Department of the Evernon Protection Agency, also known as the EPA." Ben reached his arm out and smiled, as if he was proud of his position - in which he should be, as he earns good money in the best possible way. All the boys declined the handshake.

"Well, if you're the head, how comes I've never heard of you?" Phil asked,

"Well, Phil, The King likes to keep his detectives' identities a secret, just so no one can go off, research us, and expose our covers."

"Yet you kept your real name with us?" PJ said, confusion painted on his cold face.

"Feh, any dumb fool will fall for that. You just have to add a letter in the middle and it throws anybody off track, no matter whether they know your name or not. Well, that goes for anyone in the stupid village."

"Hey!" Phil stood up and walked towards Ben, starting to get angry, "don't you dare call anyone here stupid! We are smarter than you think, Pierce!" He stared Ben in the eye, Ben just chuckled in response.

"Have you got a degree in Law?" Phil shook his head.

"How about Sociology?" Phil shook his head again.

"Not even simple maths?"

"Not really, there wasn't really a school system placed in Evernon - which I highly recommend should be a thing here."

"No one in this village will get anywhere unless your parents have some sort of money, like mine."

'Oh I do hate this guy,' Phil thought to himself, 'his wicked antics and his evil ways, I wish he could just jump off a-'

"So," PJ interrupted, "all of this basically says that you betrayed us."

"Oh, silly peej." Ben laughed to himself, "silly peej. I was never one of you in the first place." He stared them all in the eye, "I am upper class, you all are working class." The boys looked confused towards Ben, "oh yeah, you don't know what those are cause you didn't have enough money to be taught what they were. Or you had no parents to pay for it." Ben laughed, pivoting his head towards the soldiers. He turned around and stared Phil in the eye. He knew that was directed to him, and it hit a certain nerve in his brain which caused him to explode in rage.

"WHY ARE YOU DISSING MY FAMILY? IVE TREATED YOU SO KINDLY THESE LAST FEW WEEKS AND YOU GIVE ME THIS IN RESPONSE?!"

"It's the way the wind blows, mate. I just go with the flow." Ben smiled, 'how can he sound so calm?' Phil pondered, 'he just thinks he can leave us and seem cool about all these insults, the little-'

"Then," Troye spoke up, "who made you do this?" Ben was dying with laughter.

"Is it not obvious to you fools yet? The King made me do it, and I'm happy to accept."

"But you seemed so nice-" Tyler mumbled,

"It was all an act, weather boy! Has your forecast not told you that to the west there will be a shower of lies and that its cloudy with a chance of betrayal?" Tyler bowed his head in embarrassment, every word escaping Ben's big lips adding to Phil's reasons to rage.

"Your act was so convincing though," PJ said, "how did you lie to us when you gave us proof that you possess magical powers?"

"Oh my god," Ben sighed, he turned to the guards, "did you hear him? How?" He burst into laughter, before looking at PJ. "I have a thing, it's called a BACK POCKET. Surprisingly, you can keep things inside the pocket, such as colourful rocks! Wow, isn't that exciting?" Phil could tell that there was a lot of sarcasm present in his tone of voice, he could also see that Ben was annoying PJ as well - a lot. "I put loads of rocks in there and placed my palm on the floor, making it look like I actually was like you. I mean, who would want to anyway, when you can live a life like mine, which you can have money and a fancy job?"

"Nothing is better than friendship, Ben."

"Well I just broke that friendship, Lester, and Dan's getting married tomorrow. So you can say 'bye bye' to Dan and whatever you had with him, and 'bye bye' to life as you know it."

"Wait, bye to life?" Caspar interrupted.

"Oh! I haven't told you yet! How could I word this?" He shrugged, clapping his hands together. "You've been sentenced to death by the King. If you ever came back - or we found you, which we did - you'd be killed next door to where Dan's being coronated. So he can hear your last horrific screams." He concluded,

"That's horrific!" Troye shouted,

"Yeah! I can hurt people sometimes, but I would never go that far! That's truly inhumane!" Chris joined in,

"Well, your not human anyway, so what would it matter?" Ben clapped his hands, and the guards grabbed them, two guards to one boy, three to Phil though, as Ben thought he would escape.

"I thought I could trust you, Ben." Phil said, gritting his teeth in pain from the guard's grasp (which would probably bruise his skin).

"Well you thought wrong, Phil."

As they were walking back, Ben was singing a song that got on all the Black Enigmas nerves:
Betrayed! Betrayed! You just got betrayed!
BE-TR-AY-ED!

He repeated it over and over again until it was glued inside their minds. But that wasn't the thing that kept swirling around Phil's head, which was that "if Ben was like this, lying to us, is that the same with Dan?"

***

"I've done this for you, mum, dad. I'm dying in honour of you. You've given me strength for all this time, but if I just give in to the King, I will feel as if I have lost for you. If you were here right now, you would be supporting me like you always have, but you're not. Soon, I will die just like you will, but I will never lose hope. At least I'll see you again, right? Mum's golden hair and bright blue eyes; and dad's big smile and warm hugs - well, you actually both give good hugs. Oh, how much I miss them hugs, the way they didn't just mean 'I love you', but how they meant 'we love you and believe in you every step of the way, don't lose hope.' Much more meaning went into them hugs than any speech I've had to do in my lifetime. They were the last words you said to me, and they are the one thing that keeps me alive, keeps me fighting for our rights. You deserve a legacy, and I will avenge you. Even if I can't, the world will still remember the rebellious kid that snogged the prince and died with honour. That's not the way you died, but it's the way you wished you'd died. I will do that for you, no matter how I might end. I miss-"

"Phil, Phil!" PJ whispered, they were all gather in a circle in the small cell, back in the dungeons. "I think there's a way we can still go through with the plan, but we need your help."

Hey!

Things have been confusing here in England, with this whole EU Referendum stuff. Saying how it's England's 'Independence Day' when it has been fully decided whether we're in or out (even though the votes said out)

But other than that, life's been snazzy.

QOTD: whats your favourite song rn?
Me: mine is 'Lost Boy' by Troye Sivan. When I say Lost Boy, most people's minds go straight to Ruth B (if that's right) and I'm just in the corner like 'I'm just a lost boy, and I'm ready to be found'

brb gotta go get a sense of humour ^-^
