Phil sighed as he slowly pulled the handle of the door, the door to the camp of the Black Enigmas. Once again, he would have to be faced with his boss, Caspar, giving him another mission he would dread. Once the door was open, Phil's expression was blank, unlike others, whose faces would be covered in confusion and surprise.

In front of Phil was rest of the Black Enigmas, all whom possess a weird and unusual power. Controlling minds, changing the weather, setting things on fire, manipulating the colour wheel, all these were normal for Phil. But this was dangerous, they were all specials, and specials were enslaved by the royal family, so the Black Enigmas are a clan of specials coming to bring down the king, and it's upcoming king.

Phil walked into the room, trying to dodge the spells from the newbies. Eventually, he made it to PJ, Chris, Troye, and Tyler, who are also in the Black Enigmas.

PJ was abandoned as a child as he tested positive for magical powers. He was brought in by an elder of the group, Ellis, and was raised from there onwards. PJ had the power to control the colour wheel and to change the colour of basically anything.

Chris' parents hated him ever since they found out he possessed powers. Chris ended up running away and came across the base soon afterwards, where he was taken in and welcomed. Chris could make any person laugh at the smallest thing with just a click of his fingers and eye contact.

Troye hid his powers away from the world his whole life, thinking he was a freak and the only one. He saw Tyler defending himself with his powers and suddenly Troye knew he wasn't alone. He helped Tyler escape and Tyler took him back to the base to join the clan. Troye can electrify anyone just by touching them, he can also produce rays of electricity through the palm of his hand.

Tyler was a walking disaster. He was banished from Oudela and came to Evernon for shelter. Tyler found the base and thought it was just an abandoned home, and was given stares. He threatened them with his power, in which they accepted him into their community. Tyler can control the weather with just a flick of his wrists, his speciality was controlling the wind and creating tornadoes, which was what he used to threaten the clan on his arrival.

Phil was a bit different to the others. His parents were Black Enigmas, yet Phil didn't know until they were both killed. They were surrounded by the King and his guards, but only Phil was lucky enough to escape. Phil ran out of Evernon and stayed in the forest for at least a year, scared for his life. He didn't know he had powers until he lived out there. He was able to control the mind of a deer, causing it to walk towards Phil so he could kill it for food. Caspar was the person who found Phil out in the woods. He was just going for a calm walk in his safe territory and found Phil sitting under a glowing campfire, focusing on it. Phil was able to control it so well, he put out the fire with his mind. Caspar said Phil was a son of Pluto, meaning he was capable of doing the impossible, yet he didn't seem much.

"Hey, Philip!" Tyler smiled, adjusting his blue hair into the correct style of quiff.

"Hi guys, who's the new guy?" Phil asked, pointing at a tanned boy laughing with Shane and Trisha. Troye signalled for them to wait.

"Oi, Ben!" Troye called, gesturing him to come to them, "Guys, this is Ben Pierce."

"Ben J. Pierce, actually." He smirked, which made Phil start to like him, and laugh.

"What's your trick then, Pierce?" Tyler asked, the boy then stepped back and placed his hand on the concrete floor. Then suddenly, metals from underneath the ground attached to his palm, in which he stood up straight, showing the boys the metals he extracted. There were so many colours – like reds and greens and blues and silvers – in so many shapes – like circles, squares, triangles and hexagons. Phil was shell-shocked, he'd never seen someone with this power before.
