Michelle.
The wedding party were all packed into the living room, kitchen and backyard.
I waddled around trying to serve food and drinks.
"Come on, we're almost ready for your toast." Sarah called.
"I'll be there in about an hour and a half." I called, waddling toward the table.
"You look beautiful Michelle." Vivian said.
"I'd feel that way if my feet didn't hurt." I said smiling.
I stopped mid-way to the table to catch my breath.
Vic found me panting and gave me a glass of sparkling apple cider in a wine glass.
"Drink this before you keel over." He said.
"Go and tell my sister that I'm on my way to the table, I'm just having a little trouble." I said, panting.
"She understands, I'm sure." He said putting his hand on the small of my back.
"Michelle Marie!" Sarah called.
I looked up at him, "It's her wedding day, I don't think you get how this day can bring out the worst in a woman." I said.
"Vic! Sarah forgot her change of clothes, will you make a quick run for me man?" Mike asked.
Vic nodded, "Yeah sure man." He said.
He hugged me, "Be right back, you hang in there okay?" He said.
I nodded, "I will."
Ignoring the pains in my back, and feet and my son's feet in my ribs, I waddled all the way to the table where the bridal party and the groomsmen were sitting.
"Bout time you got here!" Sarah snapped.
"I don't remember being that cranky at six months." I told her, glaring.
"So she's the only one? Fantastic." Mike muttered.
Sarah glared at him and then looked at me, "Will you just give your speech and I'll leave you alone." She said.
I picked up my glass, and put my arm around Sarah's shoulders.
"Everyone." I called loudly.
The party stopped and everyone turned their attention to me, but I had frozen where I stood.
No, it wasn't stage fright, I had a thing with crowds, I could make them eat out of my hand.
This was something else.
After a few seconds, Sarah nudged me with her shoulder, "Michelle, say something." She hissed.
Finally, I spoke.
"Ladies and gentleman,"
I cleared my throat, "My water just broke." I croaked.
Sarah's eyes grew and she looked at my feet, where I stood in a puddle.
My first contraction hit, and I was on knees.
"Sarah!" I cried.
"Mike, Tony, Jaime!" Sarah hollered.
My arms around Jaime and Mike's shoulders, they carried me out to someone's car and put me in the backseat.
Jaime drove, and Tony and Sarah sat in the backseat with me.
Did I mention that Tony was extremely drunk?
"Somebody call Vic." I whined.
"I'm already on it." Mike said.
