"Y/nnn!" I heard a familiar voice giggling my name.

"Tori!" I sarcastically scream out her name.

She laughed some more and twirled her way into my arms.

My sister's wedding had just finished and everyone was on their way to the reception. I stay behind because I got caught up talking to relatives.

Tori greeted me with a longing hug that lingered on longer than suited for friends.

"Hey, lovebirds stop smooching and get to the reception," an older family friend of mine called out. I could hear them snickering at us and saying how young love was back in their days.

This occurred a lot from get-together parties as everyone thought Tori and I were dating. Tori and I are just good friends who have known each other for a long time besides both of us aren't really looking for relationships.

"I have an idea," Tori said out loud and we walked hand in hand to my car.

"Would you like to share your idea?" I opened the car door for her and made my way into the driver's seat.

"Let's have fun," she turned and looked at me.

"Aren't we having fun?" I scrunched my eyebrows.

"Let's play a drinking game," Tori thought for a moment before speaking up again.

"Every time someone sniffles or start crying during their speech take a shot"

"Every time someone asks if we're dating take a shot"

Tori continued to list out things to take a shot for. Sometimes I added in one or two things, but it was mostly Tori's ideas.

"How about we make everyone believe that we actually are a couple," I pulled into the venue for the reception.

"I mean we haven't really denied the faceted we're dating we just ignore them"

"Okay, so operation date drinking"

I looked at Tori weirdly, "what? I don't see you coming up with a better name"

I rolled my eyes grabbed her hand and scurried our way to our tables. On our way, we got stopped by these elders who wanted to catch up on our lives.

"Hello y/n," they greeted me with their eyebrows raised like they expected me to do something.

"Who is this lovely lady next to you? Ah, this must be Tori, I hear much about"

This was new info to me as I don't really bring Tori up in conversation, so I am quite interested in who would be gossiping about us.

"You do?" I tried not to act surprised but that clearly backfired.

"Of course! Your family tells me how this is your girlfriend. My, my, you have chosen a wonderful one too. Now I can't see why you haven't boasted about her! If I were you I would."

Tori awkwardly shuffled around I looked back to see her red in the face looking down at her face. I feel awfully sorry for her I honestly didn't know my family would do this.

"Err, well um-" I got caught off.

"Nonsense! Let's discuss this later we are late for the reception." The elders slowly walk away leaving Tori and me red-faced with an awkward silence.

"This is harder than I thought"

"I am so sorry Tori. I didn't know that my family would tell everyone we were dating" I apologized.

"It's cool, I kind of knew this would happen with the lovebird comments and stuff," I was relieved that she took it well.

We were seated at a table with my parents. They were blabbing about something before we showed up taking their attention to us.

"Y/n you finally arrived. Is Tori your date? Sit, sit." My parents rushed us trying to pry information out of us.

"Yeah, Tori is my date" Dates don't all have to romantic? Platonic dates exist right? I sipped on some champagne to avoid talking anymore.

"That's fantastic! How long have you guys been secretly together?" I choked on my champagne shocked that my parents would say this.

I gaped at them wide-eyed loss of words

"4 months" I heard Tori next to me. She gives me a wink.

The integration was cut down short as the best man raised his glass for attention.

Tori and I looked at each other. The drinking game was about to begin.

~~~
After all the speeches and all that Tori and I didn't drink much since everyone was able to handle themselves pretty well.
"I say that this operation was a fail, serious" I told Tori swirling my wine cup.
"I agree, we didn't drink as much as I thought we would."
"Dance with me?" I asked Tori grabbing her hand.
We did our own thing on the dance floor. Just mainly goofing off and making fun of the couples slow dancing.
"All everyone! The bride is about to toss the bouquet. Gather around now"
"You should totally go," I joked to Tori who actually took it seriously and follow the other women.
I shrugged not really caring because what are the chances that Tori would catch it. I poured myself some more wine and engaged in another conversation with my parents. Suddenly, I heard the crowd cheering and felt hands patting my back.
I turned to see what happening. My jaw dropped at the sight I saw Tori caught the bouquet.
Now everyone is congratulating us.
We might be moving from faking dating to a fake marriage.
