The next day, I finally checked out of the hospital. The cool air filled me with cheer instantly. After breathing in nothing except the smell of hospital and medicine for the last little while, the change was nice.
"FInally!" Justin exclaimed with a loud whoop, "We're free!"
"Technically," I intervined, laughing, "I was the only one stuck there." I wobbled slightly, trying to gain balance on the crutches. t felt strange having to keep two pieces of wood under my arms while moving, but oh well, hopefully I'll get used to it.
"Well, I wasn't about to leave you, so we were both stuck there," he replied while directing me towards a black Range Rover. I felt my legs fly out from under me as I was swooped up into the air, his strong arms under me as he placed me in the passenger's seat of the monsterous car. 10 seconds later he climbed into the driver's seat and started the engine.
"Wait!" I excalaimed. "Give me your cell phone."
"What? Why?"
"I don't exactly feel like watching you answer your text, hit another innocent teenage girl, and falling in love with her," I kept a serious face as I said this, though inside I was laughing like mad.
Justin chuckled and shook his head, yet handed me his phone anyways. As he pulled out of the hospital parking lot, I turned and looked at the building where, though I had spent no more than a week in it's sick-filled walls, my entire life had changed so drastically. Not only had I found out that one of my closest friends was some sort of psycho rapist with a dark secret, but I lost my only real family member. I've been injured multiple times and I've been on a bigger rollercoaster of emotions than I even thought possible. The only positive thing that came out of this was Justin. Meeting him, though he is the cause of all my problems, was also the best thing that could have happened to me. It's hard to explain, but I know I should hate him, or at the very least want no part in being associated with him, but I couldn't do that. I was drawn to him, I couldn't leave. The boy in question stared humming along to the radio. How could I love someone so dearly when he has caused me so much pain?
"Sasha, what's wrong?" Justin asked suddenly, taking my hand with his free one. I hadn't even noticed the tears that filled my eyes and trailed my cheeks until he brushed them away.
"I don't even know," I laughed halfheartedly, sniffling,"I'm just so happy, but sad at the same time. I'm confused!" More tears fell, and I sighed.
"Don't be sad, baby," he said. We were stopped at a red light. He turned to face me and smiled comfortingly. I closed my eyes and tried to calm down as I felt kiss my cheeks, my nose, and finally my lips. I opened my eyes and smiled as he crossed our pinkies together. "We'll get through this. Everything is gonna be perfect." he whispered.
Outside, someone honked. Oops, the light had changed. Justin continued to drive, but still held my hand. I closed my eyes for a bit and hoped he could keep his promise. After what seemed like minutes later, we arrived at the P-E-I Montreal Airport. Justin pulled on his cap, sunglasses, and hoodie, then came around to help me out of the car.
"Why did you do all that?" I asked as he lifted me.
"Because, if I don't, chances are some girls would recognize me, and we'd have a full blown riot on our hands." he laughed and we entered the airport. Check in and security was uneventful, except for the look of shock that the check in lady had as she read our passports, and we soon found ourselves at a side door, opening to the airport runway. I gasped as a large jet came into view.
"That is such a sick plane!" I cried over the roar of the engine. Before Justin could reply, high pitched shrieking filled the air.
"OH MY GOD, IT'S JUSTIN BIEBER!"
Oh, boy.
Then, laughter. Deep laughter. I looked at Justin, and he rolled his eyes. Usher was walking towards us, tears in his eyes.
"You should have seen your face man!" he exclaimed, giving his young friend a typical guy hug. Justin chuckled and I breathed in a quick breath.
Holy shit. Usher.
Okay, I'm a huge Usher fan. I think he's amazing. I've fangirled over him for as long as I can remember. I let out a squeak as he looked over at me.
"Aye Justin," he said, "is this the girl you're so smitten with?"
He winked at me. Keep your cool, Sasha.
I squeaked again.
Justin laughed and put a hand on my shoulder. "Yup! This is Sasha Somers. Sasha, meet my mentor, the great Usher."
"Oh ma gash IamsuchahugefanIcantbelieveIgettomeetyouinpersonholyohmygosh"
.... Did i really just say that? I stopped mid-gush and my eyes widened as looked at my idol's confused face, then flashed to Justin, who was very obviously trying to conceal his amusement. Usher suddenly laughed.
"Wow," he said, bending over to hug me as I jumped a little in my wheelchair, "you defenitely have a set of lungs on you!"
Again, I squeak.
"Aye, aye she's mine!" Justin joked, pulling his mentor off of me. I pouted and he laughed. "You can hug him again later, now Ush, do you have that thing I asked you?" He raised his eyebrow. Usher patted his pocket.
"Right here buddy, now lets get on the plane before we get hit by one!"
And with that, we boarded the plane. Justin pushed me up the ramp. My breath caught in my throat. Oh my....
