Chapter 8

My alarm woke me up at 8 o'clock. I got out of bed and hit the shower really quick. After I shower I put on my pink dress that goes right above my knees. I put on my white heals and curled my tips. I just realized Joel wasn't here. He probably doesn't want to see me anymore. I understand it's going to be very hard to say goodbye.

I went to the kitchen and saw breakfast was ready. There was a note right next to it. I opened it and read it.

Zandra,
I went to buy a few things from the store with my mom. I promise I'll be right back. Meanwhile enjoy this delicious French toast I made you. I love you.

I sighed but started eating hope he gets here soon. I'm leaving at 9:30am. Just exactly an hour from now.

After five minutes Joel came. "Good morning my Queen." He said while opening the door.

"Good morning." I said not making eye contact with him.

"I bought you something." He said.

It's a small white box with a necklace in it. The necklace was a heart with white diamonds on the outside and pink diamonds in the inside.

"Joel. This is way too expensive." I said looking at the necklace. I know it's actually real diamonds my mom taught me the difference between fake and real.

"Take it. I want you to wear it everyday. To remind you I'm always here. Right next to your heart." He said while putting it on me.

"Joel." I said speechless. After he was done, I wrapped my arms around his neck. Tears out of no where came out. I broke the hug and wiped my tears before I started to speak. "I also bought you something. It's something small compared to your gift." I gave him a sliver anchor necklace.

"I love it. For sure I'm going to wear it on the day of my audition. Now we should go to my house, my family wants to spend some time with you." He said.

"Okay." I said. But before we left I kissed him. Knowing this is the last opportunity I have with him.

He kissed back. We ended up making out. He picked me up from my thighs and put me on top of the counter top, not letting go from the kiss. I pulled away to catch my breath. He leaned in and we started to kiss again. The whole time I was thinking why we didn't do this before. Before everything happened.

We backed away and Joel's forehead rested on mine. "I'm going to miss you so much Zandra. You have been my best friend since kindergarten all the way till now. It's going to be hard to see you go. Out of my sight and touch." He said out of breath.

"Its only for a little while Joey." I said.

"Pinky promise that you will never leave me." He said holding out his pinky.

*flashback*
"Joey come here!" I yelled at my best friend who is on the playground with my other friends.
