*POV Anna*
‘Well,’ I started, looking around the familiar room. ‘What?!’ I happened to see the clock and with that, the present time. ‘4 am? How can it be 4 am?!’ I exclaimed. Bunny sprang up from his seat.
‘Oh crickey,’ he said. ‘I need to get to the warren! The eggs need my guidance!’ With that comment, he tapped the ground two times with his foot and jumped into a tunnel, leaving us staring speechlessly at the place where he had been sitting a few seconds ago.
But it didn’t take long till I started to feel tired. So tired…
‘Anna!’ someone exclaimed startled, as I fell from my chair, barely awake. More voices sounded, but I didn’t bother to listen. A minute later, someone carried me away. I snuggled myself into a comfortable position, and then let the sleep take over.
*POV Jack*
I quietly closed the door to Anna’s bedroom, and went down the stairs again. I hadn’t realised she had been so tired. Well, not before she fell asleep talking to us. I didn’t think we were very boring, so she must have been sleepy. Wow. Logics.
‘I’m sure she’ll have sweet dreams,’ North said, looking over at a smiling Sandy. A golden stream of sand went up the stairs as an answer.
‘Shouldn’t Jamie sleep too? And where’s Sophie? I know Bunny has brought her here, but I haven’t seen her yet,’ I asked. Tooth laughed and gestured to the living room.
‘Jamie’s sleeping already,’ she said. I saw she was right: Jamie was sleeping on the soft carpet, using Husky as a pillow. ‘Sophie went straight to bed. Anna had a guest room ready.’
‘So what do we do now?’ I asked, leaning against the table. ‘We’ve got Jamie back, luckily, but we can’t just leave Anna, Sophie and him here.’ North thought about this for a moment.
‘We could join Bunny,’ he suggested. I laughed.
‘Yeah, sure, like he’d let us in when he’s busy with the Easter eggs,’ I pointed out. ‘But we do need to make sure Pitch won’t ruin Easter again, so… maybe we do have to go there.’ Sandy nodded, then showed a series of symbols above his head.
‘Why do you think we need to do that, Sandy?’ Tooth asked frowning, coming to fly closer.
‘What? What did he say?’ I asked confused. I really needed to learn to understand the little golden guy. I always needed someone to translate for me. It made me feel stupid.
‘He wants us to all go to our own territories,’ Tooth explained.
Sandy nodded and again showed a series of symbols.
‘Ah,’ Tooth said. ‘I understand now.’ Then she turned to North and me. ‘Last time, Pitch got to strike because we were all together somewhere else. Maybe if we split up, we’ll be able to prevent that from happening again.’
‘That sounds logical,’ North said. ‘To the sleigh!’ He gestured wildly around, almost knocking me of my feet.
‘Woah, North, calm down!’ I chuckled. ‘We can all fly. There’s no need to go to the sleigh.’ I had never seen North look as disappointed as he did at that moment before.
*POV North*
‘We’re not… going with the sleigh?’ I asked. Why wouldn’t they come with the sleigh? Everybody loves the sleigh! And Bunny wasn’t even there to tell me otherwise.
‘I’ll go with you, North,’ Tooth said. ‘Don’t worry.’ A smile split open my face.
‘Well, then, what are we waiting for?’ I exclaimed and took off to the sleigh. Jack called me back, though.
‘Maybe we should stay till Anna wakes up. So she knows where we’re going and all,’ he pointed out. I really wanted to take a ride in the sleigh, but he was right.
‘Alright. We’ll wait,’ I muttered reluctantly. ‘But then we’ll go to the sleigh!’
*POV Anna*
Light poured through the slightly opened curtains. I blinked a few times and sat up, seeing the familiar contours of my bedroom.
‘I had the most extraordinary dream last night,’ I mumbled to Husky, who usually sleeps somewhere close to me. To my surprise, he wasn’t there. Oh well, he’d probably gone down already to get his own breakfast. I smiled vaguely, before lifting myself out of bed.
I slowly made my way down the stairs, still yawning. I smiled again, thinking of my dream. The guardians had been here, at my house. And I had been at the North Pole. Entering the kitchen, I took a look at the clock. It was 11:37 in the morning. I frowned. I never slept that long. I shrugged and turned around to the fridge.
‘Hey, you’re awake,’ a voice said. I screamed and jumped back around. ‘Woah, no need to yell,’ the guy standing there in my kitchen said, rubbing his ears. Then it hit me. It hadn’t been a dream. The guardians really had been here. And at least one of them was still here: Jack Frost was leaning against the table, a smirk on his face.
This was just perfect.
