Guardian with claws (A RotG fan-fic)

Chapter 28

*POV Anna*

This was amazing! Not only had Bunny pointed out what my centre was, he also gave me the idea on what we needed to do against Pitch! Bunny proudly puffed out his chest.

‘You hear that, mates? I’m genius,’ he stated. I rolled with my eyes.

‘Yeah, yeah, don’t let it get to your head,’ Jack said, smiling at me. He really did change, I thought. I smiled back, before getting back on topic.

‘Like I said, genius,’ I summarized. ‘But not just the figuring-out-my-centre part, also the giving-me-an-idea-on-how-to-defeat-Pitch part!’

        The looks on the guardians’ faces were priceless. They stared at me like I was some sort of million dollar exhibit. I giggled softly, and then explained. ‘This is my plan…’

*POV Jack*

‘That’s brilliant!’ I exclaimed. I caught myself on almost adding ‘you’re brilliant’. Anna smiled.

‘So I take it we use my plan?’ she asked.

‘Well, yeah, of course!’ Tooth said. ‘Unless someone has a better one. I know I don’t.’ The others all mumbled their agreement.

‘Then let’s get down to business.’

*POV Tooth*

After taking every single part of the plan into consideration, we actually started it. Jack and North went to lure Pitch out of his hiding space, while Bunny, Sandy and I travelled all over the world to make children believe in us again. This was all part of Anna’s plan. Jack and North were the bait, and the rest of us had to make sure our powers got as good as possible for the battle. Except for Anna herself. She had a special role.

‘Okay, guys, are you ready?’ I asked. Sandy and Bunny nodded and we all took off to a different continent. I went to Australia, since Bunny refused to go there, for some reason.

        I was just switching a tooth for a quarter, when the northern light lit up the sky. It was time…

*POV Bunny*

Europe, here I come! I thought, tapping the ground to open a tunnel. Since Easter wouldn’t be here anytime soon, I decided to help Tooth with her teeth. Just like two years ago. Where should I go first? Hmm. Before I got to choose a house, the northern light lit up the sky and I went back into the tunnels…

*POV Anna*

I sat hidden behind a bush, nervously watching as the others gathered around Pitch. It didn’t take much from Jack and North to get him out. The worst of the situation was that I was unable to do anything. I just had to sit here and wait for them to give the signal. Just a few minutes after North had summoned the northern light, Bunny, Tooth and Sandy arrived. Now they were all here. Pitch was making some sort of sarcastic joke out of it, as usual. He didn’t seem to see us as a threat. His nightlions came creeping out of his hideout behind him. He had clearly tamed them, since they weren’t coming for his obvious fear, like the nightmares had done. That would be a disadvantage on our side.

        Meanwhile, the guardians and Pitch started some sort of conversation. I couldn’t make out what they were saying, since I sat too far away from them. But what I could see was that the nightlions slowly outnumbered them. There were too many for them to handle. We needed help. And fast. Without them noticing, I slipped away into the falling night, hoping I would be back in time.
