Through the dark silence, Mabel entered the room and it caught her attention that Gideon was sitting next to Cif.
Gideon stared at Mabel, not saying a word, knowing she didn't want to hear him speak.
Mabel stared back, shock in her dark brown eyes, "Hello," Her voice was quiet and flat.
Gideon looked away from Mabel, not wanting respond, or more precisely, not knowing how. "Mabel," He said nervously, "I know you're angry with me-"
"Yes, I am," Mabel confirmed, cutting Gideon off.
Gideon closed his eyes and sighed, frustrated with Mabel, "I-I just wanted to say I still really like you and-"
"My God!" Mabel snapped, interrupting Gideon a second time, "Would you please just quit saying that? I am honestly getting angry with you!"
Gideon looked away quietly, "For what? Me caring about you?"
"You constantly obsessing over me," Mabel told Gideon harshly, "I have a boyfriend for God's sake! Not to mention, you're pretty damn awful!"
"Why?" Gideon asked, barely being able to speak.
"You're creepy, you're evil, you tried to take my family's home, you tried to kill my brother," Mabel listed everything she could possibly think of, "Should I go on?"
Gideon was looking away from Mabel now, as his pale blue eyes filled with tears, "No, you really don't have to, I agree with you."
Mabel rolled her eyes as she stood up awkwardly. "I'm getting some water, Dipper, Cif, do you want anything?"
"I'm fine, thank you," Cif was speaking in a bleak, angry tone, her voice sounding empty.
Mabel left the room swiftly, hurrying to the kitchen without saying another word to anyone.
"Gideon," Cif said gently after Mabel was out of sight, "I'm really sorry about Mabel, she's usually a lot nicer, right, Dipper?" Cif turned to Dipper, who was reading a page in his journal.
"Yeah, sure," Dipper answered sarcastically, not looking up from his book.
"It's alright, Mabel never really felt the same way about me," Gideon explained quietly to Cif, "I always hope she will one day though. Why is she so angry?"
"I don't really know," Cif replied, "I really don't."
"She didn't used to be that way," Dipper added, finally looking up from the journal, "She used to be nicer, happier."
"What happened?" Cif asked dully.
"She got older, she got meaner," Dipper explained flatly.
"I miss the old her," Gideon said quietly, "At least she didn't insult me like that."
Mabel entered the room, a bottle of water in her hand, and her phone in the other. She looked coldly at Gideon, then to Cif, her eyes narrow. "I can hear you in the kitchen, you know," She snapped.
"Don't care," Dipper told her, "You're acting really rude."
Mabel sat down in a chair next to Dipper, "I have a reason to," She informed him.
"What's your reason?" Dipper demanded.
"Gideon is here," Mabel hissed, "I don't personally like murderers in my home."
"I didn't kill anyone, and you know that perfectly well!" Gideon nearly shouted at Mabel.
"Whatever you say," Mabel said sarcastically as she took a sip of water.
