Cif, Mabel and Stan sat at the breakfast table in their pajamas. It was only eight in the morning, but no one had slept well after what had happened last night.  Cif was still incredibly terrified of Bill, nervous he was going to try to kill her today or something.

"Cif," Stan said, "You know Gideon's out of jail, right?"

Cif nodded, smiling uncontrollably, "Yeah, can I see him today?"

Stan took another bite of his omelet. "Don't see why not," he told her, uninterested.

"I mean, would you allow him over here?" Cif asked nervously.

Stan sighed as he finished his food and took his plate into the kitchen, "Cif, we sort of need him here, what's happened in the past doesn't matter right now."

Mabel gasped, a look of disagreement and disgust in her wide brown eyes. "I object to that completely!" She exclaimed.

Her hair was up, and she was wearing a green tank top, brown sweat pants, and a pink bathrobe. She looked tired and worn out, and after getting only a few hours of sleep last night, she was in a hostile mood.

"Mabel, you're not the adult here," Stan said angrily, "This isn't a matter of personal drama, anyways."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Mabel hissed, "Personal drama?"

"Watch your language," Stan responded warningly.

"What do you mean personal drama?" Mabel demanded as she stood up to face Stan.

"Whatever happened between you and Gideon," Stan explained, "You know what I'm talking about, that time when he liked you."

Mabel rolled her eyes. "He still likes me," She groaned dully.

"So what?" Stan asked. "So does every other boy in the town."

"Yeah," Cif agreed, "You should be grateful."

"Why?" Mabel asked, only half interested.

"It could be worse, you know," Cif answered quietly.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Mabel said, emotionless.

Cif sighed. "It means some of us don't get our first kiss at twelve. It means some of us don't have guys fighting over us. It means that some of us worry that no one is ever going to love us, ever!" She looked away from Mabel, not caring how she was going to respond.

Cif could understand Mabel being angry at Gideon for how he had treated the Pines family in the past, but what she couldn't understand is how you could ever be angry at someone for loving you. Maybe Gideon did care about Mabel a little too much, and everyone knows that the more you care, the more you get hurt in the end.

However, no one had ever been in love with Cif, so she couldn't possibly imagine what is was like to have guys fighting over her. It seemed like a fantasy to Cif, but to Mabel, it was a daily inconvenience.

"Nothing," Cif answered dully. "It means nothing, just a thought, that's all."

Mabel rolled her eyes, not believing Cif. "A thought? Really?"

"Yeah," Cif snapped, enraged, "A thought. Oh, and here's another one; If you won't do the least as to be cordial to Gideon after he just got out of prison for a second time, then Bill Cipher is going to destroy the entire town, including you, so maybe, just maybe you could suck it up for once and be civil." Cif was rarely sarcastic, but when she was it was only because she was extremely angry or frustrated.

Mabel glared at Cif furiously, a hateful look in her deep eyes, causing them to look black instead of brown. "Civil," She agreed unhappily, "But that's all I'm promising."

Cif just rolled her eyes and shrugged, frustrated beyond belief. "Good enough," she sighed angrily.

Not knowing what else to do, Cif hurried up to her room to get dressed. She stared at herself in the mirror. What did Mabel have that she didn't?

Cif was never sure of whether she was pretty or not. Short dark red hair, hazel green eyes, full pale lips, and porcelain skin, a normal combination, she always supposed. Cif was unaware that she was very beautiful, however she very also very unique looking, which she often mistook for not being as pretty as the girls like Mabel or Pacifica.

After a moment, Cif pushed the thought out of her mind, as put on a red T-shirt, a black jacket, and jeans. She pulled on her favorite black boots and put her hair up quickly, not caring enough to put on any makeup.

Cif hurried downstairs after she was dressed. "Mr. Pines?" She asked after a moment.

"Yeah?" Stan answered.

"Where's Gideon?" Cif asked quickly, "And can I go see him?"

"Don't know," Stan admitted, "And sure, I don't care."

Just as Stan finished speaking, there was a knock on the front door of the Mystery Shack.

"What in the world?" Stan muttered, "The door's unlocked, what idiot doesn't know that? This is a damn store."

Cif wasn't paying attention to Stan's complaining. She hurried to answer the door before Stan, or either of the twins could.

Cif opened the door, still bored. "The door was unlocked you know, this is a shop."

"Hi Cif," Gideon smiled and said to Cif, who wasn't even paying enough attention to realize it was him.

"Oh my God!" Cif shouted, her voice filled with joy. "Gideon, please tell me you're okay. I'm so glad you're out of that awful place." Cif nearly knocked Gideon down when she hugged him a short moment later.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," Gideon answered quickly, "How could you summon Bill like that last night? Do you know how dangerous that is? You could have been killed!"

"How'd you know about Bill?" Cif asked.

"The sheriff," Gideon told Cif.

"Oh," Cif muttered, "I really hate that guy."

Gideon nodded. "Yeah, me too."

Cif smiled again, "I'm just so glad you're back!" She was then quiet for a moment before she stopped smiling and her eyes became wide. "We have to stop Bill," she whispered.

"Yeah, I know," Gideon agreed. "Does Dipper still have those journals here?"

Cif nodded quickly. "Yeah," She told Gideon. "Dipper!" She called in the other direction.

"What?" Dipper shouted back.

"I need the journals! All three of them!" Cif called.

"Okay!" Dipper's voice echoed through the building as he entered the room. "Here's the journals, Cif." Dipper looked up to see Gideon standing next to Cif. "Oh, hey," He mumbled.

Gideon looked away awkwardly, "Hi, Dipper," He said quietly.

Dipper walked back into the family room, Cif and Gideon following.

"So, Gideon," Cif said after they entered the room and sat down, "I, uh, I need to tell you something."

Dipper looked at Cif, worried.

"What's wrong?" Gideon asked quietly.

"Well," Cif explained uneasily, "I have to warn you, this journal says, well it says you're going to die. More precisely, you're going to be killed."

Gideon stared at Cif in horror. "What?" He barely whispered. "By who?"

"Bill Cipher, of course," Cif said sadly.

After that, there was nothing but silence.
