Bill stared down at Cif, though his facial expressions were inhuman, it was not difficult to tell he was angry and disgusted.
Cif stared back, her eyes squinted, the light nearly blinding her. Her face was pale and seemingly bloodless, and her eyes began watering from the blinding light minutes later, temporarily dulling her vision. Her entire body was shaking and she was too terrified to speak, feeling as though she could be killed at any moment.
The rain poured harder than ever as Bill looked closely at Cif and began to speak once again.
"Ciferity Katley," he announced in a demonic voice that made Cif shiver, "The chosen girl, the broken girl, do you stand in front of me?"
Cif swallowed, wiped the rain from her face, and answered, "Y-yes, I-I'm Ciferity," her voice was almost inaudible.
Bill laughed darkly and looked away from Cif, then back at her. "Ciferity, where is Gideon?"
Cif stared at Bill, not knowing how to answer. "I-I'm not s-sure, his home, most likely," she told Bill honestly.
Bill laughed again, causing the torrential rain to nearly scratch Cif's skin. "Not much of a home he has, is it?"
Cif shook her head, trying not to look or sound terrified as she spoke to Bill again. "What the hell do you want with us anyway?" She nearly shouted, sounding much angrier than she had meant to originally.
"You shall not know," Bill answered Cif furiously, "You mustn't ever know."
Cif closed her eyes a moment, knowing the entire town was listening to every word she was saying, knowing Bill could easily kill her, and trying her best to speak without crying. "You killed Stan, I absolutely know it was you, you soulless devil!"
"I did kill Stan, and it surprises me that someone of your intellect could come to that conclusion," Bill told Cif as the rain softened a bit.
Cif didn't respond, knowing it was nearly pointless to argue with a demon, not caring if Bill wanted to insult her. "Whatever you say, will you please just tell me what it is you want?"
"Ciferity, close your eyes," Bill ordered Cif.
Still horrified, Cif quickly closed her eyes, knowing she shouldn't fight at this point.
Not daring to open her eyes, Cif just stood perfectly still, listening. After a moment, the rain stopped completely and there was nothing, nothing but an eerie silence than made Cif feel as though she completely alone.
A voice, it must have been Bill's whispered after a moment, "Open your eyes, Ciferity..."
Cif's eyes shot open swiftly. She was no longer outside in the town, she was now in a dark space, illuminated only by tiny floating lights. Each light would glow for nearly a minute, flicker dully, and melt. New lights appeared, then disappeared again, an awful sight.
It was freezing wherever Cif was, and everything was in ruins or falling apart. It was quiet, other than the occasional scream of terror or sound of something crashing to the ground.
Cif walked down a broken stone path, the glowing lights illuminating the way very bleakly. A woman who looked somewhat like Mabel walked by her. The woman's long dark hair was brushed perfectly, her dress was ironed, and her makeup was beautiful, however, her eyes glowed white.
Cif just looked at the woman. "H-hello?" She asked quietly.
The lady's bright white eyes looked back at Cif coldly. "I acknowledge you, but my heart is absent of compassion," she answered, and with that she seemingly vanished before Cif's eyes.
