We arrived at Villinsburg around 8PM. Lizzy had fallen to sleep in her seat. I smiled warmly, observing the way her hair fell a bit over her eye, creating a small barrier from her and the rest of the world.
We were driving up a street with bunch of big houses with trees and swings and all that jazz. I felt like I was in a movie. All we needed now was for my dad to be Owen Wilson and for us to have a dog.
I leaned forward in my seat. "Which house was it again?"
No one answered my question. I sighed and leaned back in my seat. Typical.
I turned my head towards the window again, we were coming to the end of the street. At the end of the street there was a house, much bigger than the others around it. It was blue with a big fence all around it.
My attention was quickly diverted once my dad announced that we were there. We had pulled up at a big white house. My jaw dropped. It looked like mansion, compared to our old, much smaller house that was barely big enough to fit our four family members. I tapped Lizzy's shoulder, successfully waking her up.
"Lizzy, look!" My smile got wider as I saw the expression on her face change.
"It's a palace." she whispered and through her eyes, it probably was.
We all laughed and got out of the car.
My mother opened the door for us and Lizzy ran inside, probably trying to find her own little hideout like she had in our old house.
I looked around, taking in my surroundings. All our furniture had been moved here the day before and in the room to my left, was our old couches along with a fireplace, boxes from the move, a new TV and a couple of armchairs.
To my right was my dad's pool table which was being occupied by more boxes, a desk with our computer (unplugged) and the mini bar my parents always wanted. I smiled at the thought.
Before me in the lobby, was a big staircase, leading upstairs to where all our bedrooms would be.
"Like it?" Dad asked me, giving a kiss on the forehead.
I nodded with a slow smile, completely lost for words.
He smiled, telling me to go find my room.
I obliged, grabbing the last box that had my name on it and went upstairs in search for my room.
When I finished unpacking the last box, my mind started racing... What if the kids at the new school didn't like me? What if they hated me?
I shook my head, trying to clear my head. I couldn't think like that. I sighed and sat on my newly purchased bed, looking at my alarm clock. 01:17. I rubbed my eyes tiredly. Great. I'd be tired and friendless at school tomorrow. At least my room was pretty big... I laughed a little at myself. Materialistic much?
I let myself fall back onto the bed and five minutes later, I was fast asleep.
I woke up to the sound of a blender and groaned loudly. Turning around so I was laying on my stomach, I dug my face into the mattress until I couldn't breathe anymore.
I looked up to take a deep breathe when my eyes caught the sight of the alarm clock.
"Oh shit!" I screeched.
I had 20 minutes to get ready and get to school.
Running to my newly put together closet, I put on blue skinny jeans and jumped around trying to hurry up the process. I threw on a pink tank top and one of my leather jackets, a brown one. I put on my signature black eyeliner, mascara and a pink lip gloss.
