Troubled Mind

Senior year --- everyone is making their plans for College.

Everyone, except  Alexia Williams. All she ever planned is to be a famous rockstar. Be the greatest female guitarist the world has ever known. But this things are just dreams, but the real deal is College.

Alexia went looking for Elizabeth Thorne. She found her best friend crying in the girl's locker room. Her sobs reflects a breaking heart. She'd heard Elizabeth cry before.

"How did you find me?"

"Well, you did not attend our History class. So I got worried."

"Is Eugene with you? "

"Yeah, waiting outside the hall."

Elizabeth smirked, "Why couldn't  I get a guy like Eugene?"

"You mean instead of a jerk like Nick?, He's the reason you're crying again, isn't he?"

Elizabeth nodded.

"I mean, he usually is the reason you cry."

"Fine, we had a fight."

"Over What?"

"Stop talking to me like I'm a child!" Elizabeth said.

"Sorry, if  I'm just being a concerned friend. But you've been fighting with Nick almost everyday."

"Alexia, you just don't understand."

"Oh, really? Explain."

"Whatever, it's nothing."

The entire Senior Class knew about Nick and Elizabeth's realtionship. They saw them as perfect for each other. But only Alexia and Eugene knew about the fights and mis- understandings of the "perfect- couple". Alexia never understand why they stayed together, she always knew that Elizabeth could have any guy she wanted.

"The point is, Eugene trusts me. After all the years you've been with Nick. he should trust you  too."

"That's what I told him."

"Then that's his problem. Not yours."

"There are other things too, I've been accepted in the State University."

"Oh, Lizzie, that is wonderful."

Alexia was speechless. She'd always known Elizabeth was smart.

"But.. Nick hates the idea. HE does not want me to go far away from here or HIM."

"How can Nick expect you to change your plans --- your future --- for HIM ?! Why doesn't he change his plans for you?"

Elizabeth shook her head. " He has to start at the Community College, you know, because of his poor grades"

"But I'm telling you, if I had a scholarship offer, I'd take it. NIck should be happy for you."

"Know what, you're the one I'm going to miss the most if I go away, not Nick."

Alexia put her hand on Elizabeth's arm before they stepped on the hall.

"Lizzie, don't let Nick make you do something you don't want to do. If he really loves you, he'll give you some room to do what you want, go where you want."

"Dude, you sound like my mother."

"No need to insult me."

They both laughed.

Alexia knew she was right. Nick Henderson was trouble. He always had been and he always would be.
