Wake Up

"I killed Lizzie."

"What do you mean?"

"I planned everything. I sure wished that you and your boyfriend was also killed."

"Why would you do that?!"

"I loved Lizzie so much. So, if I can't have her no one will."

"And you tried to kill all of us just because of that?! You're a psycho!"

"She was going to leave me!"

"And now she's dead! How can you do such thing?!"

"Alex. Alex.Alex. Help Me.. I don't want to die. Come with me"

"Lizzie! Lizzie! Where are you?!!""

"Alexia, my child. Alexia. Wake up."

"Oh, Mom."

"You're sweating. Looked like you're having a bad dream."

"I was."

"Tell me about it."

"Nick planned to kill us. By making it looked like it was a car accident."

"That's nonsense my dear."

"Then Lizzie died. You know it seemed like it was all real."

"You've been watching too much horror movies."

"I'm glad that it was only just a dream."

Then suddenly Nick appeared out of nowhere.

"Alexia, you're next. I'm going to kill you!"

Nick was holding a knife. Then he stabbed her mother in the back. Alexia just kept on screaming.

"Scream all you want. Because this is the last time you will ever scream."

"Alexia! Wake up!"

"Mom, is this real?"

"What are you talking about? You've been screaming like someone's hurting you."

"It's just a bad dream that's all."

"Well, what is it?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Sooner or later you have to talk to someone. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to tell."

"Well, it does Mom. No one in this house can understand what I've been going through! Oh, wait. I know. It's because it's only the two of us!"

Then it was silence. Alexia cried. Her mom was speechless. She thought, this is not the right time to get mad at her daughter.

"Just get ready. We're going to Lizzie's funeral service."

Everyone attended the funeral service. The whole school was there. Alexia thought, did Lizzie know all these people?

"I didn't know Lizzie was so much loved." Victoria said. She is Elizabeth's mom. She treated Alexia like she was also her daughter. They stood together at the Cemetery.

Everyone tossed flowers at the casket. Alexia wondered if Nick is also there. Why wouldn't? He has the every right to be there. Then in the corner she saw Nick. It looked like he was hiding from someone. She thought. It could have been from Elizabeth's family.

"Come on honey, let's go home."

"How can I leave her  here mom? She is the only friend I have.And the best friend I would ever have."

"I understand you, I'll just wait for you in the car."

Then she was alone.

"Hey Alex."

"Oh Nick, I've wondered where you are."

"How you've been?"

"Not that good. You?"

"It's killing me.You know  I've waited for this day to come, but I didn't expect that it would be like this."

"What? What do you mean?" Alexia wondered. Is he waiting for the day that Eliabeth will die?

"I've planned something for her you know."

"What? to kill her?" She said in her mind.

''Hey Alexia, are you listening to me?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry. What was your plan?"

"I was going to ask her to marry me. Since it was also Valentine's Day."

Alexia forgot about that thing. The one that Eugene told her before. She lost track of time.

"Oh." Alexia said. What an intellegent respone. She felt so stupid. Alexia thought "I really don't know what to say."

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that."

"Yeah, um. How's Eugene?"

"Nothing's changed. I want to see him."

"I feel so guilty you know. The guilt is killing me. I don't know what to do with my life now that Lizzie is gone."

"Nick, I wish we can just go on with our lives. But it's not that easy. It feels like there's something missing. Like a part of our life was taken away."

"Yes, a part of my life was taken. And that part is Lizz--" Then somenoe cut through their conversation.

"You killed my daughter!" It was Daniel, Elizabeth's dad.

"Danny, stop it."

"What?! He killed our daughter, Vic! I always knew that this guy can't do anything good."

"I'm sorry Sir. I didn't mean this to happen. I loved your daughter as much as anything else."

"Why did she have to die?! You promised that you'd take care of her. But you didn't."

"Nick, I think you should just leave. Please."Victoria said.

Then just like that Nick left. Alexia felt kinda sorry for him. A part of her tells that she should have defended Nick to Elizabeth's parents. And a part that says, that he deserves it. After everything that Elizabeth went through with him.

"You're free. No ring for you today my friend." Alexia said, Watching as the men buried Elizabeth's casket six feet under the ground.
