Alexia felt so numb.
It felt like a cold Sunday Morning for her. Alexia felt so tired and exhausted. Remembering everything that happened last night. She'd wished that it was just another one of those worse nightmares. But the fact is, it isn't.
Alexia called Vanessa. Asked her if she could come to their house. Vanessa is the only one she can think of that will understand what she's been going through.
"Alright Lex. I'll be right over."
As soon as Vanessa arrived in their house. Alexia told her everything that happened yesterday.
She told her everything that had happened with Eugene. She was crying all the way until she finished her story. Vanessa kept patting Alexia's back and handing her a box full of tissue.
"I feel like my whole life's falling apart."
"Don't say that Lex."
"Two of the most important person in my life are GONE."
"Only one is GONE. Don't even think of it."
"Tell me Ness. The one's dead and the other one doesn't know me. Doesn't even recognize me."
"That can change. Eugene will get his memory back, in time."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Once he comes home and friends drop by to visit him, he'll start to remember."
"Yeah right, Once he gets home, in his room, around all the things he's grown up with. It will bring back his memories."
"I'm no doctor Lex but I can bet you anything. "
"Hmmph, I don't know.... if you could have seen the look in his face when he saw me. Nothing. No recognition. None. I was a total stranger. It's like there's a sign that says WARNING : DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS. That was a nightmare Ness. A real - life nightmare."
"Eugene is still alive and he's expected to recover."
Alexia just stared. She looked up to her bulletin board. It was filled with photos of her, Eugene and Elizabeth.
"These two people filled up my life. but now....."
"Don't take them down. Never remove them Lex. It's all beautiful memories in those pictures."
Elizabeth will never be forgotten.
Vanessa is right. Those are the happier times that was captured.
Alexia is still lucky because she had a friend like Vanessa who'll be there every time she needs her.
A shoulder to cry on.
"Vanessa, thanks"
"For what?"
"For sticking up with me."
"I'll always be here for you. I'm your friend don't forget that."

Alexia really didn't want to go back to school on Monday. But her Mother insisted.
"You have to pick up the pieces and go on. You still have to go one. Don't stop."
"Mooooom, please."
"It's your senior year. You need to look ahead and think about graduation and college."
"Fine Mom. I know. I'll go to school."
"Life goes on honey."
Alexia didn't feel like going on.
She felt so confused right now.
