Caiden wasn't sure what woke him up; the screaming or the thunder.

He sat straight up and looked wildly around for the origin of the loud, alarming, scream.

When he found the source he wasn't alarmed, but annoyed. Kat was screaming since she was, apparently, afraid of the thunder.

"You've never screamed when it thunder stormed at school!" Raven complained.

"That's because I knew we were safe in a building with a real roof!" Kat retorted.

"What time is it anyway?" Isaac asked, now awake.

"Almost six thirty," said Caiden, squinting to look at his shiny, light gray, electronic, watch.

They turned on the overhead lantern that was hanging from the supporting rods of the tent.

"How is Ivy not even awake?!?" Isaac exclaimed.

"Dunno," Raven said, "But it's crazy that she isn't."

"We should wake her up," Caiden suggested.

"Yeah," Kat agreed.

Then they all shouted, "WAKE UP!"

Ivy screamed and hit her head on the lantern, screaming, "OW!"

That "OW" caused Kat to flinch, making Ivy kick Raven, causing Raven to punch Isaac, making Isaac slap Caiden in the face.

Then they burst out laughing and giggling like crazy people.

"That was weird....." Isaac said.

"Yes, it was," Raven said.

"Might as well get up and start walking,"Kat suggested.

"The rain just stopped," Ivy noticed.

"Yeah, we need to get up now," Caiden said.

They took their mouthwash and they each had a mini muffin before they started walking again.

About after an hour later they shared three bottles of bittersweet orange juice and took a break on the damp, green grass in the sweet, chilly morning air.

It was the best Caiden felt since yesterday morning.

God, that felt like a decade ago, Caiden thought.

Suddenly smelled something like blood and a nauseating sensation went through him.

Knockout gas. Was the first word that Caiden thought of.

Then the world spun and everything went black.

When Caiden came to, he was still on the damp grass but Ivy, Kat, and Isaac were gone, Raven was still passed out on the grass next to him, and everything in their wagon was gone. All that they had were the two knives that were in his pockets and the fencing sword that was hanging from Raven's belt loop.

"What's going on?" came a voice from behind him.

He turned and found Raven sitting up with a hand on her sword.

"They ambushed us," he said bitterly, "we should've been more alert."

"Hey," Raven said, "we wouldn't have been prepared even if we were alert."

"But still—"

Raven cut across him, "Hey! stop looking for negatives, at least we aren't alone. I still have a bag with two Mc. Donalds Chicken Sandwiches, a bag of chips, and three bottles of peach flavored soda."

"Yeah, I guess I'm being kind of on the negative side," Caiden replies.

"Kind of," Raven say sarcastically.

Then she starts laughing.

The nerve of that girl, she acts like life is a game. She's so easygoing it's annoying, but respectable.

"We need to get to that ship, our friends are in danger!"

"Luckily, we actually walked longer than four hours a day. It's actually about 15 miles from here, so, about four and a half hours to get there," Raven said.

It was actually quite enjoyable, the walk. Even with set of three aliens attacking them every twenty minutes, it almost felt peaceful.

Caiden started thinking about Ivy, Isaac, and Kat. Isaac was brave and strong, Ivy isn't as brave but can easily defend herself, but Kat wasn't like either of them, she does know how to stick together and can punch, kick, and hit. He decided to not worry, they can handle themselves.

"Hey, you okay?" Raven asked.

"What?" Caiden realized he was still making a worried expression.

"Yeah, just..." He tried to explain.

Raven started to talk, but Caiden cut her off.

"I wish we were already there."

"Be careful what you wish for"

"Whatever."

"Just keep walking," she said.

Then the familiar hissing noise came.

They shared a determined look and charged.
