Ch 39:

:LANEYS POV:

It's all over. Every bit of it.

I had been asleep, or maybe just in deep thought with my eyes closed. But, now I heard more voices around me.
I think it's my turn to be nosy. I began to tune into the conversation next to me.

"Yes, I really don't mind Harry!" An irish voice argued.

"Ok, I appreciate it. You're a good lad. I don't know what she would have done without you. " Harry's deep voice filled my ears.

I heard a click of the door. Their voices paused. "Lou, Zayn, Nessy! Come on in." Harry greeted with a hushed tone. "She's asleep. It was a long night."

"Aw, poor thing. Vanessa here was dying to see her." Lou replied. I felt a small shadow over me. I tried to fight a smile. Slowly, I opened my eyes to Vanessa.

"Nessy!" I greeted, opening my arms cheerfully.

"Laneyyyyy!!" Vanessa squealed, throwing herself onto me. I held her in my arms steadily.

"I missed ya, babe! How have you been?" I asked, now releasing her from my hold.

"Pretty well." She said, grinning.

"Good." I smiled.

Vanessa looked up at Harry shyly. Harry had kicked her out of his flat and hadn't seen her since, as far as I knew. Harry sent a small smile to her, and she returned one. Her eyes began to fill with water, and she then collapsed onto the ground, curling up in a ball. Harry went over, bent down next to her, and stroked her back.

"Hey, Ness. I'm sorry for everything, but I'm here now. And I won't ever kick got out again. I'm not your parents." Harry whispered. I smiled at Harry's sweetness towards the girl. Vanessa uncurled herself and sat up. She looked at Harry for a moment, and then they both hugged. Harry swooped her up bridal style and kissed her forehead. She giggled and swung her feet.

Lou had come over and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I'm here for you, Laney, as a mom." Lou whispered, grasping my hand. It took everything in me not to let my eyes water. I swallowed gently.

"That means a lot. Thank you." I whispered back. She squeezed my hand comfortingly, and then she went back to the door.

"I will see you guys later. I have a meeting to get to." Lou waved before leaving. We all waved goodbye and watched her leave.

"Can I leave now?" I groaned.

Harry chuckled, "I don't know. I will ask the doctor." He set Vanessa on the bed with me, and then walked out.

Finally, I could leave! My dream come true!

Harry and I got everything together, thanked the doctors, and then ditched the hospital. Niall took Vanessa home with him, and now we had to stop and get my stuff.

Harry followed me up to Niall's flat. I sighed before knocking on the door to Niall's flat. **knock knock knock** I listened as footsteps approached the door. I could hear Vanessa's laughter in the background and Niall's irish accent filling the room. Niall finally opened the door. He said nothing, but pulled me into a hug. I started to sob. Hysterically. This was quite embarrassing.

"Aw, Lane.. I'm so sorry. You would've been a great mom." Niall said softly, still holding me.

"It's not that. It's just, I am going to miss you so so much! I couldn't have done this without you. You're my savior. I love you so much. I will miss you. I will miss us. Niall, thank you. For everything." I said quietly.

"I'm not going anywhere, Laney. And it was my pleasure. Don't cry. C'mon, I will help you pack your bags." Niall replied. I nodded and reluctantly pulled away. Harry wrapped his strong arm around me, and we went inside.

After getting everything together, we waved goodbye to Vanessa and Niall. Harry and I walked down to his car.

"You love him." Harry stated simply, with a hidden smirk.

"Yes." I replied. And I stopped in my tracks. Harry stopped too. I looked into his eyes. "But not as much as I love you."

Harry walked over to me, pushed my hair behind my ears, and caressed my jawline. I knew where this was going. I tugged his shirt down, gripping onto it, making his lips touch mine. And finally, we kissed.

Now that I had unpacked and settled back in with Harry, I really had no idea what to do.

"Harry, come here." I said, signaling for him to come. He walked over to me from the kitchen.

"Ehhh. What time is it?" I asked awkwardly.

"Eight o'clock. Dinner is in the oven. I would've had it ready earlier, but we got back so late." Harry explained. I nodded simply. Harry titled his head slightly.

"Why did you want me?" Harry asked, knowing I wanted more than just to know about dinner.

I inched my way towards the balcony. I opened the glass door and stepped out, letting the evening air blow against my hair. Harry followed slowly.

"I don't know. I just.. missed you." I sighed, staring out off of the balcony. Harry linked our hips with his arm, and he put his nose to my hair.

"I missed you more." He whispered. This forced me to smile.

"Forever and always?" I asked.

Harry's smirk grew. God, I've missed that smirk.

"Forever and always." Harry repeated.
