the world around her started to move in slow motion as the rain began to pour down harder on to the seoul night streets, stinging her body with each droplet.
the light that glowed from the nearby restaurants and stores were blue and she felt an odd connection to the atmosphere as she stood still in the middle of the dissipating pack of human bodies.
from the shadows emerges a figure who stands taller than the moving bodies around him. she slowly lifts her head up to face him from afar. he's not moving, only blinking.
he notices her staring and blinks again, a smile forming on his thin lips. her body prepares for departure as she looks behind her, a pathway to an alley is open. that's where she would hide.
she faces forward, sees him slowly coming towards her. music is playing in her head, the blue glow is giving her a gloomy, sickening feeling to her stomach.
alas, she feels afraid, as he stops in front of her. stares down at her small frame and swallows hard. she should be running away by now, but she can't move. she's stiff.
her hearing is suddenly ripped away from her as she can't hear the rain anymore. her vocal chords followed as her throat felt tight, and her mouth was glued shut. he looks at her for a little while.
tears start to pool in her eyes. and he takes her into his arms, wrapping his long limbs around her body as tight as he can. rests his head on top of hers. rocks her from side to side.
she knows he's saying something to her, but his words are muffled as her hearing tries to come back to her. she has her face buried into his broad chest, arms wrapped around his waist.
and she can finally hear the gentle words: "stop running away from me. it's going to be okay, michi. you are safe with me; let me take care of you." she cries hard. the blue glowing lights flicker until there is no more light.
she continues to cry into his chest as he holds her tighter than before, whispering sweet nothings into her ear. they soon get swallowed up by the suffocating crowds again, the sound of the rain droplets coming in clearer, and the atmosphere driving them into an nonetheless, everlasting despair.
