*The Monday after the Battle of the Bands*

SUMMER'S POV

I walked down the hall, excited for my first day back to school since Battle of the Bands. I had an extra skip in my step and most of all, I couldn't wait to see Freddy. I stopped at my locker, two over from my best friend, Tomika's, locker. I opened mine up and gazed at my picture of Freddy for a moment, then I began unloading my backpack. Tomika and my other best friend, Billy, walked over towards me. I waved cheerfully.

"Hey Tomiks, Hey Billy." I said as I closed my locker and Tomika opened hers. Billy and I waited with her.

"Hey," Tomika responded, "How was your weekend?"

"Fab-u-lous." I smiled.

"Good, expect for the fact that my father pressured me to play football again." Billy said, "Why can't he take a hint? I don't want to play football, I want to design clothes." Billy was our band stylist. He worked hand in hand with me, because I am the manager. That's how we became so close, countless hours spent at my house trying to figure out good designs. Tomika was always there too, considering she was my only best friend at the time, but now the three of us are best friends.

"Why don't you tell him you don't want to play?" Tomika questioned.

"I've tried. But, he never listens, anyways it's too late, he already signed me up for high school tryouts next year."

"No take backs?" I asked.

"No take backs." I patted him on the back and Tomika closed her locker. We headed over to Billy's locker, which was close to Freddy's  locker.

"Look, Freddy is at his locker!" Billy said pointing across the hall three lockers down from his. I took a glance at him giggled. As he turned around I quickly pivoted back to my friends.

"Quick, act like your talking to me and I just said something interesting." I said. Billy nodded his head and Tomika laughed, looking interested. "Is he looking at me?" I questioned.

"Yes! And he's coming this way!" Billy said over-excitedly.

"Hey Summer, hey guys." Freddy said, coming up behind me. Chills ran up my spine and I fought the urge not to scream as I said, "Hey Freddy!" a little too cheerily.

"Can you guys believe we won Battle of the Bands?" Freddy asked.

"No!" Billy exclaimed, "I still feel like it's a dream! But I know when I see the trophy in Mr. Finn's room it will be reality! Somebody pinch me!" I leaned over and pinched Billy's arm. "Ow! that hurt!" he yelped.

"You asked me to do it." I said as he closed his locker and we started to walk towards Mr. Finn's room.

"Yeah but I wasn't serious!" he said rubbing the spot on his arm that I pinched.

"That was pretty funny Summer." Freddy said, sounding one-hundred percent serious. I laughed and blushed.

"Do you think we're still going to still play in class?" Tomika asked.

"Yeah, what would Mr. Finn teach us?" I responded, everyone laughed.

"Yeah, and just because we won Battle of the Bands doesn't mean we're not still a band. It's almost summer, we'll be able to play gigs and stuff and enter other competitions." Freddy said, "And who says we can't practice for Battle of the Band's next year? I'm sure now that we won, the bands will take us seriously." I nodded in agreement to Freddy's statement and turned into Mr. Finn's classroom and to my surprise Mr. Finn wasn't there..... Ms. Mullins was.
