LAWRENCE'S POV

I've got to admit it. Keeping secrets is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. No ones ever told me because they knew I couldn't keep it, but now that I know these secrets by accident.... the pressure is on. I walked down the hall. Lunch had just started. I was on my way to my locker, which was right by the janitors closet, when I heard voices. I pressed my ear up to the closet, but nothing was to be heard except for faint whistling. I shrugged and went into the music room to get a tuner for my keyboard, and that's when I heard the voices from before. I sat down on the floor and scrunched myself into my piano so that no one could see me from the other side.

The voices belonged to two girls and a boy.

Tomika, Summer, and Billy were the two girls and the boy.

"And you can't tell anyone until I'm ready for people to know." Billy said, urgently.

"I swear, I won't I won't." Tomika promised.

"Ok, well, I- um- I'm pretty sure that I'm a- gay."

"Really?" Tomika said. I could feel her smiling.

"Yeah, but you can't tell anyone. The girls will just be obsessed with me and the guys will just laugh at me."

"I swear that I won't tell anyone! But I'm so happy for you oh my god Billy!"

I peeked around the corner of the piano, I watched Billy and Tomika hug. Sweet friendship moment.

"Ok, it's time we get to lunch." Summer said. She stood up and helped Billy and Tomika up with her.

"I'm glad I have you guys." Billy said.

"Awe!" Summer squealed.

Wow. This is a lot to handle. I pulled out my
little sheet of paper and made another tally.

Three secrets linked to three completely different people. I sighed and put the paper in my pocket. I can't believe I know all these secrets and the people who have the secrets don't know that I know them.

It's like Friends.

Except they can never know that I know.

It would destroy our friendships, it would destroy the band. I grabbed the tuner and ran back to Mr. Finn's classroom.

BILLY'S POV

Summer and I had agreed during this mornings band practice to tell Tomika my secret. She deserved go know, she was my best friend almost as much as Summer was. I was just a teeny but closer with Summer.

"Why are we in the music room!" Tomika groaned. "And in the dark."

"We're gonna have a pow wow, a share circle, whatever you want to call it." Summer said.

We went over to the far corner in the front of the room. We sat down in a circle.

"I don't have to share something, do?" Tomika asked, a tad but nervously.

"No, this is something I want to share with you."

"Ooh ok, what is it?"

"Well it's not easy to say... and..."

"And?"

I paused. I could've sworn I heard the door open, but after doing a thorough scan of the room, I decided to continue.

"And you can't tell anyone until I'm ready for people to know." I said, nervously.

"I swear, I won't I won't." Tomika swore.

"Ok, well, I- um- I'm pretty sure that I'm a- gay."

"Really?" Tomika smiled. I let out a sigh of relief, I had this weird feeling that she was going to disown me.

"Yeah, but you can't tell anyone. The girls will just be obsessed with me and the guys will just laugh at me."

"I swear that I won't tell anyone! But I'm so happy for you oh my god Billy!" She squealed. She hugged me and I gave her a hug back.

"Ok, it's time we get to lunch." Summer said. She stood up and held out a hand for me. I gladly accepted and she pulled me up. She did the same for Tomika.

"I'm glad I have you guys." I smiled. I stood in between Summer and Tomika. They each put an arm around me.

"Awe!" Summer squealed.

We exited the music room. "I'm glad we're all super cute buddy-buddies." Summer said.

Tomika and I each gave her a concerned look.

"Too much?" She asked.

Tomika and I nodded.
