Chapter 20

It was the night and I was taken care of Gale injuries. We were alone, doing the guard. Glimmer was still out and Rue got to sleep early. After the hard day she had.

After the battle, I feel like my boyfriend... his weird. He won't stop looking into the career direction. It makes me feel... angry or jealous, I don't know. Maybe both.

I tight the bandage around my partner right arms. I see him tight his teeth, but he didn't say anything.

"Gale, what happened between Glimmer and you?"

He looks at me, surprise.

"Nothing."

I can see he is lying. Why?

"Tell me." I ask.

"There nothing to know."

"So something happened between you two?"

He tight is jaw, I know it.

"What happened?"

He sighs, he's gonna to tell me the truth.

"I was doing the guard and I hear noise distantly. When I got nearer and I saw... the district four boy betting Glimmer. But, he was mostly taking advantage of her. So I went help her and she thanks me with a kiss on the cheek. That all." My partner explains.

"But, why have done this? We are in the games..." I start saying, but he cut me off.

"If we were in our district, would you let a boy taking advantage of a girl like that?"

"No." I answer, looking in his storm eyes.

"I don't want the games change who I am. Not that much." He sighs.

I can completely understand. When I... kill Marvel, it was not me. The games are changing us. I put my head on his shoulder and Gale place an arm around my waist; protectively

"But Glimmer... Does she feel something for you? Do you feel something for her?"

I can feel his shoulder shaking because he is laughing. I look at him, confused.

"You are the only one I love." He answers with a smile.

He caresses my cheek with his thumb and I smile back. I approach my mouths of his and whisper;

"I love you too."

Gale kiss me passionately and I return it back.

All the fears, all the stress goes away.For a minute, I forgot that maybe we were  on the camera right now. The only thing I knew it that; Gale is gonna be the victor of the 74th Hunger Games .

When I wake up the next morning, I'm on the hard ground of the cave. The others are outside talking.

"So what are we gonna do now?" Ask Rue.

I see Glimmer gazing at Gale, but he doesn't do the same. The career is the first to speak;

"Kill the rest of the tributes."
