Seven people just stopped breathing today and one baby began to breathe for the first time. (That's how I've heard it works, okay!!)

Somewhere out there, someone is having a horrible day. Someone else is having an amazing day. Someone else is enraged, someone else is quivering with fear, someone is crying, someone is laughing.

Today is someone's birthday, today is someone's wedding anniversary. Today marks an annual event for someone else, today reminds another of a horrible tragedy. Today is an average day of laying around and watching Netflix.

Today someone is ecstatic.

Today someone is grieving.

Today so many things are happening all at once.

Yet we're only aware of our own lives.
