Moana, Zootopia, and Oscars

Howdy, y'all

So last night this little thing called "The Oscars" happened, and, as always, there were both positive and negative reactions.

I could mention that fail with the best Academy award picture, but I'm guessing you probably heard about that. Also, just shout out to La La Land for handling that like a champ. If I were in their shoes, I would have probably cried

Piper (McLean) deserved that reward in every possible way and if you disagree you can fight me

I love that little bird of cuteness

Anyway, the reason why I'm propped up by a few piled blankets and pillow typing away on my laptop is to mention this newfound feud between Moana and Zootopia

It never fails to surprise me how annoying people are

Like dude!! They're both great movies in their own ways. They're both better than the other in certain aspects. If you were to ask me (you didn't, but I'm bored and have no life so I'm going to share my opinion anyway), I'd say that Moana has better animation and music, and that Zootopia has a better story and characters. Not that Moana's characters and story sucked or that Zootopia failed at animation and music (maybe a little with music, but this was not intended to be a musical), just that those particular areas were beaten a little.

Of course people are upset that Moana lost. Heck, I'm upset it lost even though I prefer Zootopia. But that doesn't mean you turn against the movie that, chances are, you probably really enjoyed before just because it won.

I don't want to see Zootopia get turned into another Frozen. Frozen wasn't a bad movie. Zootopia wasn't a bad movie. Moana wasn't a bad movie.

But you know what makes these movies supposedly bad? Other peoples' reactions to it. With Frozen, people overhyped it so much that it sort of took over the entire world and everyone hated it. Now Zootopia is headed towards a path of hate just because others are bitter about Moana's oscar rejection (if anyone got rejected an oscar, it was poor La La Land).

So just accept that they're both good movies and move on :)

Honestly, most problems in the human race could be solved with this new thing called "Forgiving and forgetting," but seeing as how I'm asking for too much with that, I'll move on with my life and end here.
