Okay who else hates it when you're in a crowd and they're talking about something, so you input something that you consider to be pretty clever, but no one acknowledges you? And you're just standing there, laughing at your own genius, and no one else is. So you repeat what you said, because maybe you said it too quietly. However, this time it doesn't sound funny or clever, it's just awkward, so they stare at you like a nuisance, and you become self-conscious, wondering if they heard you the first time. Though they'll never tell you that.
