Ross' POV

I groan and turn over in bed as I see the bright sunlight through my closed eyes. I slowly open my eyes and see Laura asleep next to me. I smile at how adorable she looks when she is sleeping. I decide to let her sleep, the week she's had she needs it. I get out of bed slowly careful as not to wake Laura up and head downstairs for breakfast. Everyone was already downstairs and eating. Even Ratliff was over already. "Morning!" I greet as I get to the bottom of the stairs.

"Morning sweetie!" Mom greets cheerfully.

"Laura still asleep?" Rydel asks from her seat next to Ratliff.

"Yup, I figured she could use the rest." I say as I run my fingers through my hair.

"Aren't you sweet." Mom says in a baby voice teasingly. I laugh.

"So what's for breakfast?" I ask as I lean up against the counter and watch as my mom rushes around the kitchen.

"Pancakes, eggs and bacon." Mom says as she flips a pancake.

"What's the occasion?" I ask curiously.

"Nothing, I just thought we could use the pick me up with all the stuff that's been going on." Mom states shrugging her shoulders as she switches from the pancakes to the eggs.

"Mom do you need any help?" Rydel asks from where she was perched on her stool.

"That would be great." Mom says looking a bit relieved. Rydel laughs and gets up from her spot and walks over to the pan of sizzling bacon. "Ross, I think it's okay to wake up Laura now." Mom says as she sets the last plate on the table. I nod my head and walk up the steps two at a time. I throw Laura's door open and I'm about to tell her to wake up when I notice she isn't even in bed. Weird. I knock on the bathroom door, but there is no answer, so I just open the door, no Laura. I was starting to freak out when I noticed that the window was open and the screen was gone, she must be on the roof again. I stick my head out of the window and look around no Laura and it was starting to rain. It was officially time to panic she was gone.

"Mom! Dad!" I scream the panic setting in. I run down the stairs fighting back tears. "She gone." I heave.

"What do you mean she's gone?" Rydel asks standing up from her seat.

"I mean she's not here!" I shout.

"Did you check the roof?" Rydel asks walking around the table and ends up right in front of me.

"Yes and the bathroom." I say rubbing the back of my neck nervously.

"Well let's check the rest of the house before we jump to conclusions." Dad says and we all fan out around the house calling Laura's name. After about ten minutes of just screaming Laura's name through out the house we all end up back in the kitchen.

"See she's not here." I say pacing.

"Ross calm down, she doesn't have a car so she couldn't have gotten far." Mom reassures me.

"Mark and Riker you guys take the cars and drive around town to see if you can find her." Mom says Riker and Dad grab the keys and head out. "Rocky call Bella and see if she has heard from Laura." Mom exclaims looking at Rocky. Rocky nods and heads out to the back porch to make the phone call.

"What if she's in trouble?" I ask nervously.

"Ross, honey calm down everything is going to be fine just try and relax." Mom sits me down on a stool in the kitchen and rubs my back comfortingly.

Rydel's POV

"Why would she leave without saying anything?" Ross asks sounding like a scared little boy.
