Ross' POV
I will never forget the look on Laura's face when the jury delivered the verdict. Guilty. He was guilty. She let out a small gasp and tears came to her eyes. I pulled her into a hug and held her to my chest for a little while. We pull apart and Laura hugs everybody else. "We should get back home, to let my parents know that everyone is okay." Just as I say it a voice screeches through all the noise in the courtroom. All head turn in the direction of the voice. It was Brandon. "You little bitch!" He shouts the gaurds haven't got to him yet, so he leaps over the divider that seperates where the judge and the jury sit to where the bystanders sit just to watch. Laura sees him coming and she runs into my arms. Beckett jumps in front of both of us her gun drawn.
"Don't take another step or I will shoot." Beckett spits through gritted teeth.
"Oh look you've got your stupid boyfriend and your little cop friend protecting you." Brandon spits and I feel Laura bury her head farther into my chest. "I will win, I always do." Brandon spits narrowing his eyes at us. The court officers finally get Brandon and drag him out of the courtroom.
"It's okay he's gone now." I whisper to Laura and I feel her relax in my arms.
"Come on let's get out of here." Beckett says leading us out of the courtroom. She takes us back to her apartment so we can get our car and head home.
"Thank you for everything." Laura says hugging Beckett before climbing into the car next to me. As we wave and drive away from Beckett Laura lays her head down on my shoulder. "I'm sorry I ran off this morning." Laura sighs.
"Laura I already told you, you don't have to apoligize." I say looking down at her. "You had a perfectly good reason for doing what you did." I reassure. "But next time please take your phone with you, and try not to scare me so bad." I say and Laura giggles.
"I'm so glad it's finally over." Laura says a huge smile spreading across her face. "I'm finally free to live my life normally and not be afriad every second of my life." Laura says looking up at me. "I think I have you to thank." Laura says laying a hand on my chest.
"I didn't really do anything." I say shaking my head.
"You gave me something to live for, your whole family did, I had people to keep me safe and love me again." She says a single tear falling from her eye.
"We'll always love you, you're family." I say brushing the tear away with my thumb. She gives me a smile. We pull up to the house and the whole family comes out of the house. As Laura steps out of the car she is mobbed everyone hugs her and tells her how worried they were about her. It was still raining outside so we all head inside for some hot chocolate.
"So what took you guys so long to get back?" Ryland asks as we all sit down at the table with our cups of hot chocolate.
"We went to watch the end of the trail." Laura says a smile appearing on her face.
"Judging by the smile on your face I guess he was found guilty." Riker says with a laugh and Laura nods her head.
"That's wonderful Laura!" My mom cheers. "We should celebrate!" The group responds collectiviley with 'yeahs' and totallys'. "We'll go to the store so that we can make an amazing dinner." Mom added grabbing her purse and her keys Mark follows Stormie as she walks out the door. We all stand there in silence for a little while. Laura whispers something in Rydel's ear and then Rydel goes to everyone else and whispers to them.
"What are you guys whispering about?" I ask raising an eyebrow at them.
"It's a suprise." Laura answers. "You wait here while we go get your surprise ready for you." Laura grinned. They all walked down the hall speaking in hushed tones. I stand in one spot for a little while before getting bored and heading to the fridge to find a snack. I was sitting at the counter eating some grapes when I feel someone tape me on the shoulder. I turn around to see Ryland standing there.
