Double update :D

It was mid-afternoon when I awoke again and this time I decided I was well enough to get out of bed. Slowly and carefully I swung my feet over the bed and stood up. I was relieved when no dizziness came to my head. I walked out of the room and down the stairs. Remus’s house was smaller than Sirius’s, but it was definitely larger than an average sized house. It was far brighter than Grimmauld Place. There were open windows, lighter coloured walls and happier paintings.

After searching through most of the house to find Remus I was left with one more room. I silently hoped he was in there.

“Remus?” I called, pushing open the door. There was no reply.

The room was just another bedroom. By the looks of it, it belonged to Remus.

I sighed and closed the door, not wanting to intrude in his room. “Remus!” I called again, louder and slightly worried.

Yet again there was no reply.

I walked back into the kitchen. This time I noticed that on the table there was a small piece of paper. It had Remus’s handwriting on it; I’ll be back soon.

“Gee that’s helpful”. I muttered walking to the sink and grabbing a glass from the cupboard above. I poured myself some water and gulped it down.

“I’m back!” Remus’s voice sounded from the doorway. I jumped and quickly put down the glass and ran out to see him.

“Hey! Did you find anyth-” I stopped mid-sentence and say that Sirius was standing next to him, a sorrowful look on his face.

“Hey”. Sirius greeted.

I frowned at Remus and then mumbled a small “Hey” back.

“Remus told me everything, I am so, so sorry I doubted you for one minute. I was overreacting and scared too. Please forgive me?” Sirius begged.

I blinked, “I…uh yes, yes of course!” I jumped forwards and threw my arms around his neck. He squeezed me tightly and buried his head into my neck.

“I missed you”. He breathed.

“I missed you too”.

I pulled back and turned to Remus, “Thank you so much”.

He smiled warmly, “I couldn’t break the spell so I decided to try and tell Sirius myself”.

I hugged him, “Thank you again!”

He chuckled.

“Where’s Maia?” I asked suddenly noticing that Sirius hadn’t brought her.

“She’s having a play date with Harry at James and Lily’s”. Sirius replied and began walking into the kitchen.

I laughed Of course.

~O~O~O~

“It’s so good to have you back”. Sirius yawned, dropping the overnight bag at his feet.

I smiled and cradled sleeping Maia close to my chest “It’s good to be back”. I did enjoy being at Remus’s but it would have been nicer if it were for better circumstances.

“I’m going to put her to bed,” I said, beginning my journey up the stairs. I heard a faint “Ok”  from Sirius.

I smiled as I entered the nursery. Sirius had painted the walls a very pale pink, almost white, and had set up the cot by the window. There were Gryffindor decorations laced around the room and pictures hung on the wall. There was a changing table, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a shelf all filled with baby items. It was beautiful. (picture on side)

A small burden still lingered in my mind though.

I walked over to the small mirror above the chest of drawers and adjusted Maia so her face was against my shoulder. I lifted up her small shirt and my heart sank. The faint scar of the dark mark was still etched into her back. Tears prickled in my eyes. It looks as if the healers did try everything, but it wasn’t going to fade anymore.

~O~O~O~

“Hello Moony, it’s good it see you again. How are you?”. I heard Sirius say.

“Very well Padfoot. You? How are Katie and Maia going?”

“Both of them are very good. Come meet Maia.”

I shifted Maia, who was awake, gurgling, in my arms.

“Hello Remus.” I greeted, standing up to kiss his cheek.

“Good morning Katie, how are you?”

“Very well thank you.”  I smiled.

“Hello Maia”. He cooed. She giggled and held her arms to him.

“Would you like to hold her?” I offered.

Remus nodded and I passed Maia to him. She gazed up at him with her bright blue eyes.

Sirius walked over and put an arm around my waist.

“She’s beautiful. Congratulations you two.” Remus said.

“Remus, we would like you to be the godfather.” I blurted out happily.

Remus looked up at us, “Really?”

Sirius smiled and nodded, “Really.”

“Well then, I would love to be.”

Remus passed Maia back to me as she began to cry.

“Thank you guys, it means a lot.” Remus said, sitting down in the armchair across from us.

Sirius and I sat down and I gently rocked Maia.
