I had everything packed in an hour. I flopped on my bed and opened the file. On the first page there was the picture of the high school with "Easton High" scrawled down. I flipped to the next page:

Assigned Agents : Damon Knight. Flint Gary, Rob Tarrel, Emma Tarrel.

I gave out a huge sigh of relieve. Caroline was not assigned which is pretty abnormal. Caroline always gets assigned. I read the rest of the file in about an hour and rubbed my eyes. I got off the bed and threw the file on my bed. I walked towards my guitar and picked it up. While carefully balancing myself on the window ledge I jumped towards this huge willow tree with my guitar strapped securely behind my back. I grabbed a huge brunch and swing myself on the top and highest brunch. I sat on it and faced the moon. I pulled my guitar and tuned its strings. While facing the moon I strummed.

I set out on a narrow way many years ago

Hoping I would find true love along the broken road

But I got lost a time or two

Wiped my brow and kept pushing through

I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars

Pointing me on my way into your loving arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through

I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you

But you just smile and take my hand

You've been there you understand

It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream led me to where you are

Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars

Pointing me on my way into your loving arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

Now I'm just rolling home

Into my lover's arms

This much I know is true

That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you.

A clap came from below. I crane my neck and found Emma smiling up at me. "I never knew you could sing, nor play an instrument," she said. I just shrugged. "What are you doing out here?" I asked. "Looking for you actually. I see you haven't started packing yet," she said and raised an eye-brow. I strummed and A-chord. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked and started to climb up. I reached down and pulled her up to sit beside me. She cocked her head sideways and studied me. "Why isn't Caroline assigned with us?" I asked her, avoiding her gaze and strummed a B-Major. "Well, Your Uncle is sending her back to Harvard. She's completing her masters," she said. "Oh," I said. That explains it. "Why are you so concerned all of a sudden. I thought you'd be happy about it. I mean, you always wanted her 'off my back' as you would say," she said. I strummed an E-Minor. "I am happy. Ecstatic." I said and strummed an A-Major. "Then....?" Emma trailed off. "Well, I thought she pulled out because of me," I admitted. "Huh. And why is that?" she asked me. I shrugged, "There was an accident," I said. "About the stink bomb?" Emma asked. I shook my head and smile a little at that memory. "Well, we were both fighting. And she pushed me down. And well, I pulled her down with me and we..." I gave a frustrated sigh.
