"Bye Mum" Serena says excitedly to her mother as Ash waits close by ready for him and Serena to start on the next stage of their journey together. "You both be careful out there and help fix all this" Grace says proudly that her own daughter is helping save the world. "We will and I promise to look after Serena and that she won't get hurt" Ash says confidently to her. "I know you will Ash" Grace responds "I'm very proud of both of you". "Thanks Mum/ Mrs Yvonne" Serena and Ash respond as Serena holds out a hand for him to grab and they both walk away.

Further down the path Ash and Serena meetup with the Pokemon that are going with them to Alola who are Lucario, Charizard, Greninja, Delphox and of course Pikachu. "We've scouted ahead master and for the moment I cant detect any hostile auras around, it should be safe for you and mistress to keep going for now" Lucario says thru Aura. "Thanks Lucario, when are you going to stop calling me Master and Serena Mistress anyway Lucario, we are your friends, I'm not your master" Ash says with a sigh having had this conversation with Lucario before. "I know Master" Lucario replies as usual "I'll continue the scout ahead with Greninja". As Lucario and Greninja disappear into the dark Pikachu takes his normal position on Ash's shoulder,with Charizard leading the way using it's tail flame to see where its going and to keep Ash and Serena warmer. Delphox keeps close to Serena acting as a personal bodyguard and also since being a fire type a further heat source.

"Do you think we will be able to stop and see Clemont and Bonnie before we leave" Serena asks Ash. "I called Clement this morning and they are going to meet us at the airport, it'll be hard for them since the power is down for 2 days but Bonnie is kinda demanding to see us" Ash says with a laugh. "That sounds like her" Serena chuckles as she starts to shiver from the cold "Its alot colder out here than i remember". "You haven't been out here for a while have you" Ash says as he puts an arm around her " Charizard can you stick a little closer to us with your tail?". "Thanks Ash" Serena says enjoying the feeling of having Ash close like this "You're welcome" he replies.

"I can't believe how bad things have gotten" Serena says sadly as she looks around at the desolate landscape around them. "We need to get the sun back soon I don't know how much longer we can hold on, I feel so terrible about all the wild Pokemon out here that are suffering worse than us"Ash says sadly. "You'll fix it Ash i have no doubt" Serena says as she gets on her tiptoes as she kisses Ash on the cheek "At least your taller than me again, i can't wear your clothes anymore" She grins causing Ash to grin at the memory. "Well Pikachu doesnt just listen to anyone in a battle, i should have seen then how you felt about me" Ash says. " Dont worry Ash, we are together now and that's what counts" Serena says as Lucario appears thru the dark and Greninja lands on a tree branch above "Master, we have a problem" Lucario says.

"What is it guys?" Ash asks as Serena stands behind him startled by the sudden appearance of the 2 Pokemon. "There's a group of humans up ahead that have a very hostile aura, I recommend we take a detour" Lucario replies and Greninja nods in agreement with him. "What's wrong Ash" Serena asks not able to hear Lucario thru Aura like Ash can "There's trouble ahead" Ash says simply to her. "I believe they are waiting to jump anyone passing by for their supplies" Lucario says as Ash relays the message to Serena. " That's horrible, how can people do that, this is the time when we all should be helping each other, not doing this" Serena says upset " We need to do something Ash". "Are you sure, it could be dangerous?" Ash says as Serena nods and has a look of determination on her face.

"How many are there Lucario?" Ash asks as Lucario leads them to where he sensed the possible danger. " As far as I can tell there is 4 of the master, they seem to be hiding 2 on each side of the road and laying about 20 metres apart, waiting for someone to walk into their trap" Lucario explains. Ash and Serena slowly walk to a safe area just a short distance away from the danger sensed and start to think. Ash stands up and gathers his Pokemon and Serena around "Ok everyone, here's the plan.

The small group has split up, using the dark as cover as Ash gets in position behind one assailant with Serena/ Delphox, Pikachu and Lucario getting in position behind the other 3. With Charizard flying over head waiting for the signal from Pikachu, everyone is in place and ready to go. As per instruction Pikachu wondered up to the first guy trying to look as lost and desperate as it could and started to nuzzle itself friendly against the person's leg. "Why arent you friendly" he says as he picks Pikachu up but as he does Pikachu puts a smirk on its face as he unleashes a Thunderbolt attack. Seeing the thunderbolt, Charizard goes into a dive and crashes loudly onto the road distracting the other 3 ambushers. "Now" Ash yells loudly as he appears behind his guy and punches him, knocking him out cold as Lucario uses Close Combat on his and Delphox uses her hypnotic powers on hers and Serenas final guy.

"Great work guys, that went perfectly" Ash praises his Pokemon on a job well done as he rubs his hand gently. Serena noticing this goes over to him and looks at his hand "Ash, your hurt" as she sees his hurt hand from the punch " I'm fine Serena really" he replies embarrassed of the attention. "I'll bandage it when we get into Lumoise City, no buts mister" she says sternly at Ash who knows by now not to argue. "We'll tie these guys up and tell Officer Jenny where she can come to pick them up" Ash says as he pulls some rope out of his bag and starts tying them all up.

"Not exactly the simplest start to a journey that I've had and my promise of keeping you out of danger didn't last very long" Ash says with a grin " But I'm glad you're here, us together like this, makes anything feel possible". " I love you Ash" Serena replies and receives an "I love you to" back from him. "Pika Pika" Pikachu cries out, quickly followed by the cries of their other Pokemon to "Thanks guys, we know we can rely on you guys to" Serena says. " Ash and Serena versus the world" Serena says with a smile as Ash laughs at her comment. In high spirits the group continue the trip to Lumoise City and as they pass the final hill, a feeling of dread comes over Ash as he looks at the dark city "Something is wrong".
