Dark Thoughts and Darker Feelings

The Alola Region, more commonly known as a tropical holiday destination west of Kalos is a combination of small and larger islands and one of the most beautiful places  in the world. Full of palm trees, coconut trees and white sandy beaches as far as the eyes can see, the Alola Region is a popular destination for Pokemon trainers. Or well it used to be anyway. 6 months into this ever lasting darkness and this once lush tourist hotspot is looking worse for wear, it's once thriving forests are nearly dead, the once pristine beaches are now littered with the dead or dying Pokemon that are starting to suffocate in the ocean. The lack of sunlight is taking a great toll on the world and it's inhabitants and its last great hope lies in 2 teenagers that are slowly discovering their role in saving the world.

Ash and Serena are travelling down a path on 1 of the main islands of the Alola region with their Pokemon surrounding them until a sudden terrible thought occurs to Serena. "My tan" Serena grumbles "I finally had a nice tan from travelling around Kalos with you, Clemont and Bonnie, but I'm white as a ghost now". Ash falls over at her comment "You look beautiful either way" Ash says to Serena who smiles at his words. "You always know how to make me feel better" Serena tells him as she cuddles into one of Ash's arms. "One of my many talents" Ash kids as he feels Serena on his arm "When this is all over I still need to take you out for a first date you know". Serena stops stunned at Ash's words "A date" Serena stutters "You want to take me on a date?". "Of course I do" Ash responds "Once we fix this and things are back to normal". 

Without hesitation and a sudden burst of energy Serena quickly runs down the dark path ahead of everyone else "Master" Lucario says as he chuckles thru the aura link he shares with Ash "You know Mistress won't stop now until you give her that date, you better hope we can find what we need quickly". "You think i should organise something now Lucario?" Ash asks " I didnt know a date was this important to her". Lucario sighs at Ash's inexperience " Master, she is your mate and she wants alone time with you and to be made to feel special". "Serena is special to me Lucario, she is the most amazing person I've ever known" Ash says honestly. "Don't tell me that Master, tell her" Lucario states " Just look at how happy the possibility of going on a date with you has made her". Ash looks ahead and sees the faint outline of Serena running ahead with Delphox close behind chasing down its trainer. "I'm still new at this Lucario, I don't know what to do" Ash says sadly "I dont want to mess this up and lose her". "Mistress loves you completely Master, as you do for her, that's obvious to see" Lucario says "But doesn't she deserve to be told and shown she's loved anyway?".

Ash ponders Lucarios words as the rest of the group start jogging to catch up to Serena and Delphox. "Have I really been that oblivious for this long?" Ash wonders to himself "looking back I see now how obvious Serena's feelings were towards me on our Journey and i can't believe I never noticed". "But she stood by me the whole time and never gave up on me" Ash continues "I don't deserve Serena, but maybe I could make it up to her". A plan quickly forms in Ash's mind as all the missed opportunities from his Kalos journey with Serena flash before his eyes "Serena, wait up" Ash yells as he continues to chase down his excited girlfriend.

Even though Serena is flying high right now, her sudden burst of energy has left her out of breath causing her to have to stop and rest a little ways down the path with her Delphox standing behind her. "Ash wants to take me on a date when we finish this Delphox, can you believe it" Serena says excitedly to Delphox who cries out happily in Response. Serena looks behind her and sees Ash, Pikachu, Lucario, Greninja and Charizard quickly catching up to her but her attention is quickly diverted to growls and cries coming from further ahead. Serena waits for Ash to catch up her mind now entirely focused on the situation ahead "Ash, I think there's someone in trouble up ahead" Serena tells Ash as he and his Pokemon catch up. Ash nods his head as the small group continue down the path albiet at a much slower and cautious pace than before.

A few minutes later Ash and the others have made their way further down the pathway and have found what was causing the noises that Serena heard earlier. A pack of unknown wolf like Pokemon have surrounded a small group of Pichu, 2 of which that are laying motionless on the ground leaving the smallest Pichu on its own. "Ash we have to help it" Serena pleads as they watch on, hidden from sight. Ash nods as he gives a command to Pikachu that she couldn't hear and Pikachu jumps out of their hiding spot and approaches these unfamiliar Pokemon. Using its tail Pikachu taps one from behind after its made its way to them and as the Pokemon turns towards Pikachu it powers up an iron tail attack, whacking the Pokemon in the face and sending it flying into another of its partners, knocking both out. Pikachu quickly uses Quick Attack and disappears into a nearby bush before the other 3 wolf Pokemon can react. The 3 remaining Pokemon quickly investigate their fallen comrades and search for what did this to them. While grouped up Pikachu launches an Electro Ball attack towards them, hitting them all and causing them to cry out in pain. Using Quick Attack once more Pikachu launches out from its hiding area and using iron tail once more knocks out the remaining attackers.

"Great job Pikachu" Ash praises as Pikachu shows off his muscles and does Ash's signature peace pose. Serena meanwhile has rushed to the little Pichu that is cowering and shivering in front of her "It's ok now Pichu" Serena says gently as she tries to comfort the frightened Pokemon "We arent going to hurt you". Serena picks up Pichu and cuddles it while stroking the back of its head "It'll be ok, those other Pokemon won't hurt you now" Serena assures it. Pichu looks down at its fallen friends and the bite marks that are still oozing out blood and notices a boy checking them with the Pikachu that saved it. "How are they" Serena asks worriedly as Ash shakes his head signalling that they didnt make it. Hearing this Pichu bursts into tears and clings to the nice girl that is comforting it. "I'm Serena and that's Ash Pichu" she says sadly "We are sorry for what's happened to you". With tears in its eyes Pichu cries out and grips tighter to Serena determined to never let go.

"How are we Lucario?" Ash asks "Can you sense anything nearby?". Nothing in the immediate area Master but I can feel a large cluster of auras ahead I believe we are approaching a town". "Ok, hopefully someone there might be able to help us out and give us some new information" Ash replies as he walks up behind Serena "Serena we need to go". She nods her head as she gets up with Pichu still clinging to her shirt "Ok, can we bring Pichu with us?". Ash nods as they all regroup and start off again "Lead the way Lucario" Ash says "Let's get to this town". The aura Pokemon along with Greninja take the lead once again and head towards their next destination.
