As Ash and Serena approach the powerless Lumoise City they can hear frightened screams of citizens that are still in the city and loud cries from what they can only assume are Pokemon. "Ash, I'm scared, what if something has happened to Clemont and Bonnie" Serena says worriedly. "I'm sure they'll be fine, Clemont would never let anything hurt Bonnie, you know that" Ash says with a smile as the pair make their way into the city.

"Stay behind me Serena" Ash says with concern "I'm not risking you getting hurt again". "Ok" Serena replies as Ash orders Lucario and Greninja further ahead to scout, Charizard to fly up and scan the city from above as they go down an alleyway to await their return. "Your so calm about all this Ash" Serena says in a slightly scared tone as she holds Ash hand for comfort. "Practice" Ash says with a solemn face "All the supply runs these last few weeks have been getting a little harder than I told you". Serena gasps" Why didn't you tell me, I could have been coming to help you" as she starts to get mad at Ash.

"It's my job to look after and protect you Serena" Ash says as Serena rips her hand out of his grip. "NO!, you listen here Ash Ketchum, what if you got hurt and never came back" Serena says sternly at Ash "We are meant to be a team and you can't just do everything yourself". "Serena I" Ash starts as Serena wraps him in a hug and starts to cry" Please don't hide things from me, I might be scared but not being there with you would be so much worse". Ash doesn't say anything as they continue to hug and Ash strokes her hair.

A few minutes later Greninja and Lucario return from their forward scout and see Ash and Serena still in their hug "Master, sorry to interrupt" Lucario says nervously thtough their aura connection as it scratches the back of it's head. "Sorry Lucario, what did you see" Ash asks as Serena and he end their embrace. "There's a large group of what look like wild Pokemon attacking the city" Lucario responds as Ash relays the message to Serena. "Why would Pokemon just start attacking the city?" Serena says in alarm "It doesn't make any sense". "They are starving Serena and with food becoming harder and harder to find, Lumoise City would look like a smorgasbord for them" Ash says" It isn't their fault, they are just desperate". Serena nods with a sad look on her face as an explosion is heard a few blocks away.

"What was that" Serena yells as she sees Ash and his pokemon running towards the explosion they heard and chases after him to try and catch up to him. "Greninja, hydro pump on these fires" Ash commands as he approaches the area where he heard the explosion. Prism tower is on fire, Clemont along with his sister Bonnie, their father and a few military soldiers can be seen in front of the burning building using their Pokemon to hold off an attack from a large group of starving, feral, wild pokemon. Ash can easily see the horrible condition these Pokemon are in, their fur falling off in places, bones starting to show thru their skin due to the loss of weight and the pure look of desperation and hopelessness in their eyes.

Ash hears Serena run up behind him and gasp as she to sees the situation that has occured in front of them "What can we do Ash?" she asks him. "I don't know "Ash admits " we can't attack the Pokemon they are barely standing as it is besides they are only looking for food". "Even Clemont is trying not to hurt them" Serena notices as she sees him command his Luxray to use a small thunderbolt attack on an approaching group of Pancham and Pangoroo. While standing behind the wild Pokemon group separating them from Clemont and Bonnie a few of the Pokemon have started to sniff the air and turn towards them, urged on by the food smell coming from them. "Umm Ash, those Machoke are coming towards us" Serena says a little scared " I think they can smell the stuff from our packs". "Probably" Ash says as he takes off his pack and gets out some Pokemon food, earning the attention of a group or Fletchling and Fletchinder who cry out and fly towards him.

Ash throws the food into the group of Pokemon who stop their advance to Prism Tower and instead head towards the small food container. "Come on, while their distracted" Ash yells to Serena and his Pokemon who all then run the short distance towards Clemont and Bonnie. "Serena" Bonnie yells out excited to see her friend again " Aww I missed you to Bonnie" Serena says. "We can't stay here for long, that little bit of food won't distract them for long, is there anything here we can give them Clemont?". Clemont shakes his head as he seals the doors behind them and their Pokemon "It's all gone Ash, we have nothing left at the moment, after the food distribution yesterday" Clemont says sadly. "Then why are the Pokemon here?" Serena asks. "Maybe they can still smell the food that was here, they are desperate, just wish we could help them somehow" Ash says sadly.

"Are you Ash Ketchum and Serena Yvonne" one of the soldiers ask that were outside helping outside keep the Pokemon at bay. "Yeah, why?" Ash asks "How do you know our names?". "I'm stationed at the airport and we were told to look for you after the power went out and to get you to the airport as quickly as we could" he responds. "You're in contact with Professor Oak" Ash says earning a nod from the soldier. "My colonel is yes, we know of your task to Alola and getting you there is a top priority" the soldier continues "Professor Oak and Sycalmore have both recommended you for this task, so we are trusting their judgment. "What mission?" Bonnie asks as she tugs on Ash's arm "can we come to?". " I'm sorry, I've only been told to bring Ash and Serena and the plane we have is only big enough for them anyway" the soldier answers.

Bonnie pouts at this and walks away as some of the wild Pokemon from outside can be heard banging on the doors trying to find their way inside. " I'm sorry about this, but I have orders, we need to leave right now" the soldier says sadly "Wild Pokemon are attacking all over the City, we are running out of time". " It's ok Ash, we'll figure something out, you need to go save the world again, if anyone can do that its you" Clemont says as he walks towards a back exit of the building. " There shouldnt be any Pokemon here and its a straight shot from here to the Airport". " Thanks Clemont" Ash responds as Serena gives Bonnie a hug goodbye " Stay safe Bonnie, you need to find Clemont a girlfriend still after all" Serena says. This causes Bonnie to giggle as a smile appears on her face and she starts to cry " Look after Ash, he's a keeper to" Bonnie says. "I know" Serena smiles " I've been so lucky to have Ash during all this". " Serena" Ash says appearing beside her and grabs one of her hands "we have to go". "Greninja, Lucario can you guys lead the way again?" Ash asks as the 2 Pokemon nod and lead the way.

"Do you think they'll be ok Ash, I wish we didn't have to leave like that?" Serena asks. "Clemont will figure something out, Science is so amazing after all" Ash says with a slight twinkle in his eyes. Serena giggles at this as she remembers their old journey, while this is happening the duo are lead by the soldier to the Airport. " Whats your name anyway?" Serena asks. "Captain Grant of the Kalos Military at your service" he responds "your plane should be just ahead, its been supplied and ready to leave ever since Professor Oak told us his idea". "What makes this so important?" Ash asks. "We are out of options, we can't keep going like this for much longer, people dont know this yet but the power isn't coming back this time" Grant says sadly. " The grid is now to damaged and its been over taxed running everything 24/7, your mission could very well be our last hope" Grant finishes as he leads them to their plane.

"OK Charizard, Greninja and Delphox, we will see you in Alola" Ash says as he fist bumps his loyal fire type "Stay safe, I need you Charizard". Charizard roars and lets loose a powerful flamethrower as he takes off with Delphox and Greninja on his back. "Master, I can sense more wild auras approaching we should leave now" Lucario says as he and Pikachu board the plane. "Go save the world" Grant says as he watches Ash and Serena board their plane and watches it take off as it disappears into the darkness.
