Escaping the Dark

Serena opens her eyes groggily as her entire body feels to be on fire, everything aches and burns from the electric shocks of the Pokemon that had been ordered to attack her. Thankful for now that the attacks have stopped Serena looks around to see herself back in a cell type room. "I must have passed out" Serena surmised " I don't remember being brought here". Looking around her surroundings she sees a simple basin and dirty toilet in one corner of the room and the simple cot she awoke on. The entire room is made from cinder block except for the door which looked to be made from solid iron. "I don't think I'll be getting out of here easily" Serena says sadly "Maybe i should have payed more attention to mum's Macgyver show after all".

Serena felt so alone and was getting worried about everyone else, she had no idea where anyone else was, especially Ash. "He took quite a blow to the head from that man, he was unconscious the entire way here" Serena thinks to herself as an idea comes to Serena. "Ash's aura powers, we could communicate on the plane ride here by thought, I just hope he is ok" Serena finishes as she closes her eyes and thinks of Ash. "Ash, can you hear me?" Serena thinks "Please tell me you're ok". Nearly instantly Serena hears Ash's voice in her mind "You're ok, thank Arceus" she hears Ash's voice say "I heard them drop you in the cell across from me 2 hours ago, I've been trying to contact you the entire time". "Are you ok?" Serena asks "I saw that man attack you and there was so much blood and they wouldn't let me help you and". "Hey hey Serena calm down im fine, it's you I'm worried about, I heard you screaming, what were they doing to you?". "I'm sorry Ash but I told them everything, why we are here, the prophecy and how we think it means you,everything" Serena informs "I tried not to but they had a Pokemon start using thundershock on me".

"Animals" Ash replies "I think they already knew anyway, I had a guy come talk to me before and said that he wouldn't let us interfere with his plan, whatever that is". "Do you think he knows something about the darkness?" Serena responds "If he does he wouldn't want us out there trying to bring back the light". "Maybe, it makes sense" Ash responds "I don't know how Sungaleo and Lunala fight into this yet though". "Do you think we can get outta here?" Serena asks "Ash, these people scare me". "They scare me to" Ash responds "Lucario spoke with me before but I think the distance made thing's jumbled". "What did he say" Serena answers "Are they all ok, how's Delphox and Pichu?". "From what I can guess they are all together and if I know Charizard, Greninja and Pikachu they are searching for us know snd getting ready to teach these guys a lesson". "I hope they'll be alright" Serena replies "Are you sure you're ok?". "You always worry about me" Ash responds "I'm fine really, a little tired from using the aura connection so much but I'll be fine".

"Ash, what if they can't rescue us?" Serena questions "Or what if these people hurt Greninja and the others". "Charizard took down an Articuno once before" Ash thinks to her proudly "Besides what's our Motto?". Serena grins at this and instantly responds "Never give up, till it's over". "That's right, even though i can't be there with you in person right now I'll always be apart of your heart and mind as you are now apart of mine" Ash thinks stunning Serena. "So to get you to loose your denseness all I needed to do was clobber you over the head" Serena thinks as she giggles. "Let's not try it again, once was enough" Ash responds.

After continuing to chat with each other for a few more minutes a familiar presence enters Ash's mind "Master, I believe we have found you" Lucario says to them thru the aura connection "Greninja is certain you are nearby and all we can see is a lone building in the distance". "Lucario" Ash exclaims "Its good to hear your voice again buddy" Ash says to Lucario thru their Aura bond. "Likewise Master" Lucario responds "Have you found mistress?". "I'm here and I'm fine to" Serena replies using the aura connection Ash created. "That's great to hear mistress, there's an very unhappy Pichu here that will be quite relieved to hear that" Lucario responds. "What's the plan Lucario?" Ash asks "I don't think we should stay here much longer". "Well Master, I think you'll be hearing the plan in a few moments" Lucario says nervously "Pikachu and Charizard arent exactly good at waiting". As Lucario says this Ash and Serena feel a small explosion from outside, causing the building to shake a little, quickly followed by a loud roar. "They are fighting back Master but Charizard is in one scary mood, all they are doing is making him angrier, not to mention Greninja and the othees". Do what you can Lucario" Ash responds as he hears footsteps heading his way "I think someone is coming for Serena and I right now".

"We are coming Master" Lucario responds "We'll be there soon". This last message from Lucario is all Ash hears as his cell door opens revealing the same man from before "It appears your Pokemon are hear to rescue you" he says coldly "To bad they are to weak to make it past my men". "We'll see about that" Ash says confidently as another explosion rocks through the building "I guess my Pokemon aren't the weak ones after all huh". Looking at Ash with loathing the man says "I am so close to my vision of a new world, the filth is slowly starving away and I won't let some kid come along and play hero". "I, Lord Ecillis, leader of Team Eclipse won't let you"he says as he walks over to Serena and grabs her roughly "Lets take a trip downstairs so you can call your Pokemon off or else something horrible will happen to your little girlfriend here" Ecillis threatens.

Seeing Ecillis grab Serena like that and knowing all the pain and anguish he's caused them already caused something in Ash to snap "Let go of her" Ash says as his eyes begin to glow blue and a small energy sphere begins to form in his hand. Shocked to see Ash's eyes this way Ecillis instead tightens his grip on Serena causing her to cry out in pain. Hearing Serena hurt again was the final straw for Ash as he loses control and throws the small energy sphere at Ecillis, catching him in the gut and launching him into a wall. Serena hesitantly approaches Ash, never seeing him this way before and slowly puts her hand on his shoulder "You saved me Ash" she says as she watches his eyes return to their normal brown. "Serena" Ash says weakly as he falls onto the ground "we need to leave". "Lets go" Serena says as she pulls Ash up trying to help support his weight.

Another explosion rockets thru the building followed by another angry roar as Ash and Serena continue walking towards what they hope is an exit. "Help us please"they hear some voices say from another cell area in the building "Are you Rachel's people" Ash asks. "Yes we are, we were sent to find this place and hopefully stop them from coming and taking our supplies aĺl the time but we were captured instead" One of them says sadly. "The keys are just over there" Another villager points to some ke to s on a key chain hanging on the wall. Ash having recovered some of his strength walks over and grabs the key to free the villagers "Rachel sent us here to find you" he says as he unlocks the cell door. "Thank you so much" they all say "the exit is this way" they continue as the race down a corridor.

As they make their way closer to the exit the sounds of a large battle can clearly be heard in front of them "This door leads to a courtyard and freedom"one of the villagers says happily. "Ok, lets get outta here" Ash says as he opens the door and gasps at the carnage in front of him. Unconscious Pokemon and trainers, crumbling pillars, destroyed gardens, fires everywhere and a human hanging from a chandelier that feel to the ground as they walked outside was the sight that greeted them all. "Ok, note to self: never piss off Charizard" Ash says in awe as his Pokemon quickly notice them and all rush over. "You guys are awesome" Ash announces proudly to his Pokemon as Pikachu happily jumps onto his shoulder and Pichu leaps into Serena's arms. "I told you we had a plan Master" Lucario says "But Charizard didn't want to wait anymore".

"Come on, lets get these people home, we can talk about this later" Ash announces as he grabs Serena's hand and pulls her close, feeling more protective of her then ever before "I promise I won't let you get hurt ever again Serena" he whispers into her ear as they walk away from the crumbling Team Eclipse base.
