as i walked out of the shop, the cold air hit my face. i ignored it as i kept walking.

i walked on my normal path home. it probably wasn't the best route, especially at night, since it was dark and had lots of abandoned buildings, but it was the quickest way home.

"areum.."

i stopped in my tracks. i shook the thought out of my head and continued walking.

"areum.."

i ignored it this time. i thought i was just hearing things. i shook the thought out of my head once again and continued walking.

"areum.."

this time it had sounded as if it was directly behind me. i stopped once again.

"hey! i obviously don't know you! so i wish that you'd kindly leave me alone!" i continued walking.

"but areum..."

"look, i-" i turned around.

and that's when i saw him.

"yah, areum, you're imagining things." i said to myself as i turned around.

but he grabbed my wrist and stopped me.

"no, you're not. look at me, areum.."

"but you-"

"i'm okay. i've always been okay."

"n-no but y-you-"

"areum, look me in my eyes." he put his hand under my chin and lifted my head so that i was looking at him.

"i am fine. i am not hurt. i-"

"but wonwoo-"

"i am alive."
