"so this is my house."

"wow, it looks the same." jungkook said as he looked around.

"follow me, your room is upstairs."

he followed me and placed his things down on the floor of his room. he plopped down on the bed.

"ugh, i am so tired."

"then rest, it's late. i'll be downstairs if you need something."

he mumbled a barely audible "okay" as i walked out.

i wandered around the kitchen before i noticed some dishes in the sink. i decide to wash them.

"areum?" i jumped.

"sorry, i didn't mean to startle you."

"ahh, that's fine, jungkook. do you need something?" i continued to dry and save the dishes as i waited for his response.

"areum, do you really think that wonwoo is dead?"

i stopped. i turned around and looked at him.

"why would you just ask that all of the sudden?"

"just answer my question.. do you?" he looked at me with an expression i couldn't read.

"there's a part of me that says yes." my words dragged on.

"what does the other part say?"

"the other part keeps screaming no."

"areum, what do you believe?"

"to be honest, jungkook, i don't know which part i should believe."

"what if he didn't even take the flight? what if he was okay but they had never checked him yet? what if he was okay but lost his memories? what if-"

"areum..." he walked up to me and used his thumb to wipe away the tears i didn't realize had fallen.

his hand lingered on my face as he looked me in my eyes.

i grabbed his hand and pushed it away from my face.

"night, jungkook.." i walked away from him, and upstairs to my room.

i sat down on my bed, and i couldn't stop my eyes from looking at the picture of wonwoo and i on my bedside table.

a knock interrupts my thoughts. "can i come in?"  i nod.

he sat down next to me.

"i'm sorry, i didn't mean to upset you.. it's just that ever since i found out, i've been having dreams about him."

"it's okay.. i have dreams about him, too."

"we'll get through this." he grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "together."
